And stumbled across the Jacksonville Jaguars depth chart. Ziggy Hood is a backup DT in Jax.

Turns out he's not better as a 4-3 DT.

Jacksonville D-Line coach: " Ziggy! Stop playing patty cake"...." Why does he just stand there and keep slapping that guys hands?"....." Ziggy.....please stop slapping and at least move toward QB....Ziggy....Ziggy?"

Funny, PFF (Ziggy's #1 detractor in the world) actually praised him in his first action with Jacksonville this preseason. They were basically like, "Wow, we can't believe it, but it's actually working." He had a +4.8 grade after two preseason games, and they even gave him the game ball for the second game. But I'm not a member so I can't see any of his grades for the regular season. It looks like he's playing about one-third of their defensive snaps. I'm looking forward to seeing him play to compare him to how he did here for myself.

You'd think if anything, he'd get a little more credit around here after seeing what happened to our run defense when he was replaced by Cam Thomas. McLendon is playing well. Heyward is playing well. Shazier is a step up from Williams/Garvin. Everyone else is the same. So what the hell happened to our run defense? People wanted more plays from Ziggy and said holding his ground and playing "decent" wasn't good enough. I wish he was still here, starting instead of Thomas. We could use "decent" at the position right about now. Tuitt can't develop quickly enough.

From what I've read in a couple places, it seems like Jacksonville was bringing him in not to take over, but to rotate in and out and keep other guys fresh. But I am confused by the contract they gave him, though. 4 years and $16M is a lot for a rotator. I'm thinking they are penciling him in to start next year.
