Just comin here to post the same thing. Despicable. There is nothing that changes the story like most Rat-turd fans wanted to believe. It's even worse. He's the instigator. Should have been at least 6 games. Goodell really needs to feel the heat for this. Welker does a little X and he's gone 4, this piece if **** get two lousy games? Is there anyway to suspend Goodell for six games for ineptitude?

Do you need anymore proof that Goodell is a moron? And don't tell me he doesn't play favorites when handing down suspensions, I'm not buying it.

The more I think about it, Goodell absolutely needs to make this right. He needs to find a way to get it up to six games no matter what. And there should be riots in front of the NFL headquarters until he does so. Sickening.

Full video of Ray Rice beating his then fiance

    http://www.tmz.com/2014/09/08/ray-rice-elevator-knockout-fiancee-takes-crushing-punch-video/

This will be the lead story all week heading into Thursday Night, so I assume this is the right forum for it.

If Goodell saw this video and only gave Rice a 2 game suspension, Goodell needs to be fired. If Goodell didn't see the tape, and Rice and his wife lied about the details, hopefully Goodell uses the video evidence to revisit the case and drop the hammer on Ray Rice.

This is completely sickening. If Goodell saw this before how did he only get two games, If the ravens saw it how do they stand behind this man. My biggest problem is the DA DID see it and didnt do anything about it. Anyone who cheers for this man this year is just another piece of S**T like him. This is totally unacceptable and something needs to be done.

Wow. Not that it would have made it okay, but I remember reading how people who saw the video were saying she attacked him first. That absolutely didn't happen. What a scum bag

Should have been jail also. Every linebacker in the league should put a bounty on both of his ACL's.

You want to get even more pissed? Read this article in the Baltimore Sun. Their take? This video "apparently" shows Ray Rice hit the girl. Seriously? How about OBVIOUSLY? Also it says that they hit each other. Well, yes they did hit each other, but only after Ray spits on her then open hand slaps her to the face. Stay classy Baltimore.

And some of the comments are even more delusional. One guy even says she hit him first and that's what you get.

Baltimore media is, and has always been, ridiculous. Zrebiec and Wilson basically work for the Ravens. Wilson is a NFP writer, and his bias against the Steelers is pretty shameful for a respected journalist.

My favorite thing is everyone crying sexism. "Can't a man protect himself? If a man was attacking a woman she'd be allowed to hit!" She was coming at him talking with her right arm clutching her purse. She was no threat at all. He hit her because he wanted to shut her up.

And yeah, this "They hit each other" thing really glosses over the truth. He spits in her face and she waves her arm in like a reactionary way, but not to hit him, then he slaps her. Then her arm comes out again in what looks like a defensive way to gain distance - IF you want to call it a strike, you still have to admit it didn't come close to landing - and then he punches her. When I look at her movements I see a woman trying to protect herself. He, on the other hand, spit, slapped, and punched, and he did all of it "first." The only thing she did that was not fully defensive was when she walked toward him.

So now I guess the question for Baltimore "Standing Ovation for Wife Punching and Statues for Murderers" fans becomes, does walking towards a man while holding a purse constitute an aggressive threat and require a punch to the face? I can hear it now: "We still don't know what she was saying. For all we know she was threatening his life!" I see. Start a physical fight with a woman and then use her possible verbal return assault as an excuse to punch her unconscious.

I just saw the thing on Sportscenter. What they said was, "He hits her first, she hits him back, then he punches her unconscious." That's better than what Baltimore Sun wrote, but I still think it glosses over the truth in Rice's favor. One more detail that seems like an assumption in Rice's favor is that the handrail is what knocked her unconscious. Yes, it looks like she wangs her head pretty badly on the handrail, and that could totally be what knocked her out. But she went straight to the handrail from his fist. She could have already been unconscious. He really clobbered her and she was not prepared for it, and that happens all the time. People don't need to hit their head on something after a punch to be knocked out. I'm not ready to say that's bias, but it's definitely crappy reporting.

Rice shouldn't see the field the entire year over this. 6 games still wouldn't be enough. This is disgusting. Someone has viewed this video way before tmz ever got their hands on it. I heard the nfl made a statement saying they never seen this portion of the video until today. I find it hard to believe that they didn't. But we will never know the truth. And if they really didnt, Goodell needs to change the suspension in light of new evidence. We should all be appalled as fans.

Quote from the NFL public relations: “We requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator. That video was not made available to us and no one in our office has seen it until today."

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/09/08/nfl-we-didnt-see-ray-rice-video-until-today/

So the NFL knew there was more evidence out there, and they just "requested" to see the video inside the elevator, but it was not made available to them? How do you not demand from Rice's legal team and/or the NJ law enforcement to see all the video evidence? Obviously everything happened inside the elevator, when the only evidence you have is Rice dragging his unconscious fiancé out of an elevator. Seems to me like the NFL, the ravens, and the NJ DA all turned a blind eye to this. More could have been done. I'm disgusted.

So if this is true about the NFL not seeing this until today, then Goodell needs to come out IMMEDIATELY...as in this afternoon before tonight's kickoff...and raise the suspension to 6 or 8 games. IDGAF what the CBA says, no one will fight it. Not the Ravens or the union. It would be a political nightmare.

And then the owners need to fire Goodells ass immediately after that announcement.

He looks like the aggressor the entire time to me. Sure, she's coming towards him as he throws a left hook to knock her out, but all I really see is a man who's determined to put her in her place.

The NFL is completely full of *$%# today with this statement. There is absolutely no way that they didn't have access to that IMO. Either way, you say you didn't...now you have. Respond accordingly almighty Roger. I don't think the CBA prevents him from amending his punishment in light of <cough> "new evidence"...

I wouldn't doubt that that is their out. They're claiming that they didn't see it in order to extend the punishment and the Union is on board and won't fight it. Regardless it's time for Goodell to go after this. Incompetence at its best.

On a side note, Id is like to be a fly on James Harrison's wall today.

James isn't exactly innocent in this regard. Not sure I'd make that comparison.

I didn't need to see the video to know all of the Rice apologists and Goodell were full of it. After seeing it, well, I can only hope some men in the NFL have a sense of honor and justice and hand it out in a meaningful way.

Yes, I'm saying players try to hurt him. He's garbage.

Nothing to do with James troubles, but rather his feelings about Goodell.

No. I get that. But then they point to his domestic violence, and all points are moot. He never faced harsh punishment over that either.

I am glad that there are players out there calling for him to be kicked out of the league. If the Rat's had any balls they would take care of the matter themselves. I would put money down that he does not make it through the year. Someone will take him out this season.

Baltimore should cut Ray Rice and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they do. They almost have to at this point. I'm not convinced any other team picks him up either, at least not this year. I hope this ends his career. What a piece of ****!

The Ravens front office is working hard behind the scene trying to get Ray Rice statue erected before the game Thursday.
