Many people are upset about how the team looked last night, but we simply do not know how they will look in real games. We did have back to back games where we had an interception with the first team, so that is a huge improvement over last year!

Limited pressure on the QB, but we were spoiled in the past with a prime Harrison and Woodley. That will take some game experience to get better, especially with some of the young guys.

I thought Grad looked much better last night, and the offense seemed to move better in the second half. They took too long and were too slow in the first half. That could be players not knowing where to be or do, or lack of preparation from the coaches. Probably a combination of both.

The one thing I will say though, is that I have not seen much out of the running game overall this preseason, from any of the strings. I really thought this would be a team strength, with the new o-line coordinator and consistency up front, plus Bell being a year in the system and Blount being signed. I thought I would see more from them by now, but maybe they will pick it up later.

I am not worried about one bad outing in the preseason.

 

You want more out of the runnning game then tell the RB's to put down the pipe and pick up a straw.

I am not sure how that would effect their ability to run a football or how it would effect the ability of the O-line to make holes or how it would effect the ability of the coordinators to call effective players.

Regardless, the running game was lacking before the arrests.

One makes you very slow and lazy while the other makes you run around like a jack rabbit.

Also, one stays in your system for a month while the other is only there a couple of days lessening the chance of getting caught on a DT. If you are going to be stupid and risky it would be wise to make better ignorant choices.

 

I'm glad they play the Browns in week one, they're limited on offense I expect a low scoring game.
