You are being totally ridiculous about the whole thing. They are young kids with a bunch of money we cannot expect them to be super human and not make mistakes. However, it was a very stupid mistake and they will pay for it and hopefully learn their lesson. That is where you get to judge, from whether they learn anything from it or not.

As for scouts, there is 10000000 reasons why it is ridiculous to blame this on scouts.

It's terrible and boneheaded moves on both Bell and Blount. We aren't alone with messes like these, they happen to almost every NFL team, not usually with two players at the same time however. Just look at Josh Gordon from the Browns, guy is one of he most talented WR in the NFL, but can't keep himself out of trouble with weed either, and now he could be facing a season long suspension.

I'm guessing Roger is going to lay the hammer to us again, on this. I'm guessing Blount maybe a game, Bell maybe two games. Which sadly is the same punishment Ray Rice got, which to me is dead wrong.

If the NFL passes on punishment the Steelers should do something themselves, to tell these knuckleheads that they don't stand for this kind of stuff.

Freakin idiots. Save it for the offseason fellas. Hell, wait till you retire and buy your own pot farm. To do this during the season is selfish and not only hurts you but your teammates as well.

By the way, how does a THC factor in a DUI blood test? From what I understand, THC stays in your system for about a month. Doesn't that make it almost impossible to prove the DUI?

Stay out of trouble, work out, play football and you will be paid millions. Why can't these athletes get it? Being a Steelers fan living in Cleveland, I have been highly critical of the Josh Gordon situation and the stupid decisions he continues to make.

Some fans on this board will defend them and say that they "only had a small amount" but my God, how much did they already smoke if the cop smelled it as they drove by? They weren't even smart enough to roll up the windows! Oh well, I guess I need to just sit back now and listen to Browns fans rip the Cheech & Chong backfield in Pittsburgh.

Anybody think that LaGarrette Blount gets his number called tonight?

I know innocent til proven guilty but the Steelers should send a message and have him ride the pine just for being a suspect.

Probably to hard to prove as a DUI ,unless he failed multiple sobriety test ? Probably more of a charge the highest charge so they can get a plea.

Careless and Reckless if he failed field test ,case dismissed if none administered .

Plus if the Weed was found in a common area of the Car, 1 person can claim it. If it was Her weed she simply needs to claim it and all charges would be dropped.

Oh that's right no charges have been filed yet. Will have to see who they charge and how they charge them.

Also in Defense of these Players. A lot of guys have a lot of pain, they push their bodies beyond the limit most of the time . Also they have a lot of pressure to perform and have a lot of mental stress..

So a lot of players are on legal drugs to help with this and a lot are on ill legal drugs. I am in the corner that most legal drugs are more harmful than the Greenery. And no I don't smoke .lol

As has been said by many others already, this is just plain dumb. I'm not here to argue the legality of pot one way or another, all I know is that in their workplace it's not tollerated. Just like it's not tollerated for me to come to my workplace hammered. If I did that, I probably wouldn't have a job.
If they want to do this on their own time, so be it. I can't stop them. But while they're under contract for the NFL there are certain rules and standards they have to meet. And they have failed this. Having never smoked, I can't say what the alure is. I just don't understand how someone would be willing to jeopordize thier career and millions of dollars to get high. Just doesn't make sense to me.

It was also mentioned that reports were they were pulled over because the cop smelled weed. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. Maybe he was profiling. Who knows. While perhaps the traffic stop wasn't on the complete up and up, it doesn't change the fact that they were doing something illegal. Just because you don't get caught doesn't mean that you're not breaking the law.

Do I think that there will be league punishment? Probably. The league wants to send a message that they do not tollerate this type of behavior. The way to do this is to make an example of these two.

My bigger question in all of this is what do they do in regards to the roster. It could take a while for the league to rule on this, as this just happened. Do they get a fine and/or suspension handed down later (knowing some conspiracy theorists, week 17 seems about right)? Or does the NFL take immediate action without knowing all the facts? IF this is the case, what does the team do for a running back? Do they have to cut lose a guy they were hoping to keep because these boneheads got high? I think that will probably end up being the biggest tragedy in all this, is someone who potentially should have made the team might not due to having to carry an extra RB, depending on when punishment is handed down.

Thats right PWP. Great points. I would just add that the legality and illegality of substances is a joke. You can get higher on legal pharmaceutical prescribed drugs that you can blazing up.. lol

That's all well and good and I'm sure a lot of guys did and still do the same with pills or alcohol and sometimes both. Just don't do it behind the wheel and don't do it in public if it's against the law.

It's not their fault. Hear me out...it's not their fault. It's Todd Haley's fault. These poor guys have to get high to be able to make any sense out the rosetta stone that is his playbook.

Yup I believe that to be true TTF. I am sure there are alot of players using it already as a means to help reduce pain.

Hell if it did not cause me so much paranoia I would go back to it lol

Pot as pain reliever for Football is the stupidest thing I ever heard. They do it because the like getting high.

The moral debate of pot is moot. The NFL drug policy was negotiated in the CBA the rules are clear.

In Pa, you can pass all field sobriety tests and still be subjected to breathalyzer, urine testing or blood testing. If any substance tests higher than legal limits you will be charged with DUI. This applies to alcohol, illegal drugs and also legal prescription drugs. Pa also has a sliding scale of punishment for different blood alcohol levels. I'm not sure if this sliding scale applies only to alcohol or all intoxicants.
