Dale Lolley had a good article on him and the possibility of him returning to the Steelers. He mentioned in that article the Brett has yet to clean out his locker.. it is right now as it was at the end of the season...hhmmmm.

Brett today on his FB page linked Dale's article..... hhmmmm

I could see him returning on a qualifying contract that'll pay him almost 1 million and have him as our top reserve, 10-15 snap per game and that solid locker room leader and mentor to Tuitt & Mauro.

I would re-sign him for the veteran minimum as a back up DE, they could use some more depth at the position.

I love Keisel and everything he's done, but no. I would rather they finish rebuilding than bring back aging vets.

What about cam Thomas. In his 4 year career he's had 6 sacks. Keisel missed four games last year and still had 4 sacks and 26 QB pressures. I agree we should rebuild but I think he'd help Tuitt Greatly.

Do you think we are good on DL without Brett and only with you we currently have?

I think this is a great situation for us. Keisel isn't going to be playing anywhere else. It's us or no one. Like Harrison, he doesn't need training camp. I'm sure he's still in shape. We can do training camp without him (a win for both sides) and evaluate Thomas/Tuitt, and if we feel like we need Brett, we bring him in and buy Tuitt a year to develop. If Thomas fits the scheme and Tuitt catches on fast, then thanks for the memories, Brett.

I still wouldn't want Keisel seeing the field a ton, but 10 snaps a game sounds good.

Try comparing apples to apples. Up until part way through the 2013 season Thomas was a NT not a DE. Casey Hampton had 9 sacks in 12 years while Thomas had 6.

Thomas is here to be a blocker for Jones. He is going to eat up space and let Jones go nuts with his athleticism.

Yes, I know what our DL are supposed to do. Although, I'm not sure what your statement has to do with my comment about apples to apples, Hampton etc.

I admit I don't know much about Thomas other than he's here to replace Woods. Someone with Position flexibility and is predicted by many as Keisel's replacement at DE. I'd like to see Brett return for one more season because I think he's still an effective 3-4DE and a high Character guy who can help the younger guys in so many ways.

My wife showed me a video from her Facebook page of The Beard fishing with a special needs boy. Sorry, don't know how to post that stuff, but look it up. Another class move by Mr. Keisel.

da beard is an awesome dude. it's not like he still can't play. I don't see anyone here that would be better than him besides heyward at this point. that's not saying down the road they won't be, but as of now. I don't ever see cam Thomas as better than da beard, or being able to teach arnfelt, tuitt and Williams any better than him. I also don't see him coming back unless we have a major injury.
