Steelers stuck in neutral

I'm with Mac on this. They have to get it right with some of these draft picks at some point or keep them around longer than one camp. Especially the ones that miss OTA's! I know we'll say "No other team has picked them up.", but this is ridiculous that they can't at least match a skill-set and get these guys to the PS! They're always talking about needing time in the system, but cutting them before they have the time and having no back-up plan.

 

I almost liken it to the years we kept bringing larry foote back. that's now our situation with ike sort of. if Richardson and allen don't workout, we don't have any clear cut 1 or 2 corners to fall back on, just ike and willie gay.

gay is now in his 8th season and ike in his 12th. gay is not really 1 or 2 material for a whole season. not a lot of CB's make 9 and 13 years in starting roles usually without some sort of dropoff. we really don't have 3 to 4 years to see if Richardson can play like we did with cortez, or lewis, or brown. we need to know what he can do this year. he will have to get some substantial field time.

we are out of guys to bring back unless deshea isn't busy. anyway, none of this is ikes fault and we better thank our lucky stars he's back with us, working his butt off and willing to take a pay cut. especially when they need him this bad.

yea, getting that small business back up and running will be difficult. maybe santonio and plax need a place to live. LOL

 

I don't think the team is stuck in neutral and I expect that they will be improved. I am tempering enthusiasm however since there are still holes, especially on D.

 

i'm not sure we have holes, if the players we have in place play like we expect. i hope the injury bug has finally left us though. we are due to have a less injury filled group i'd hope. just with the law of averages, i'd think. this really is the most crucial part of the season and a team, if we are going to make a run. we had troy and ben all year, but lost a couple of critcal players last year in heath and pouncey, foote,allen,woodley and keisel. tough to play solid without your better players.
