Well certainly, I'd be pissedbut only to an extent. as a realist I'd hope to realize the cap situation and knowing my spot in the pecking order could see the reasoning? So I guess I appreciate his self observant assessment of him not cutting it and acknowledging his situation, but at the same time the whole "why me" thing is irrelevant. Woodleys out... so many of his former mates are out, it's the writing on the wall. Most of us in the real world don't get to be devalued in our 30's so it is what it is... Id like to think Ike isn't overly bitter but hell, maybe he is. And if he is, welcome back to the locker room monster I suppose. Been a lot of words spent on players not realizing when Their time is up... Didn't take Ike for one of them.

I think his assessment of former players' as well as incoming vets is spot on. However, he shouldn't use it as a supposed podium to channel the why me thing. Why you Ike? Because things happen and you've been exposed. No company overpays for a percentage of a used to could. I believe you got one good one left, so shut up and play ball.

sure he's pissed. 4-5 million dollars will make you that way.

ike has channeled his pissed back into ike being the best he can be, as he always has for this club. ike is probably the hardest worker this team has. he's all steeler and he's all about being the best steeler he can be.

of course anyone would be pissed about a big hit to the wallet. this cat has played a lot of games for this club. he's going to train hard every year whether he makes 2.75 or 7 mil..

ike hasn't had a lot of bad years compared to all the football he has played for the steelers. these are proud guys. they have been a top defense in the league for years. that's a hard pill to swallow. the steelers offered all these contracts, so yea could see a little animosity towards the situation, but ike being the pro and dedicated steeler that he is, is just working harder than every to help this defense and team get back to the top. that's still his job 1.

No room for malcontents on your team.
Did anybody hold a gun to IKE TAYLOR's head
to sign the contract? SHUT THE F UP IKE!
Go play somewhere else if you don't like it. The only reason
the Steelers didn't release you because you are Dan Rooney's
boy.You want to talk about loyality?

Exactly. People think these guys should be robots, no emotions. At least he's still working his ass off. Not the end of the world what he said. He'll use the situation to play better, thats all I care about.

Our company took several hits economically the past two years we have had incentives taken away salaries reduced and no pay raises second year straight. Was i pissed very much so but the upside i'm still employed. So yes i can feel Ike's frustration. look we can't fix the past so let's show Ike some luv & support for the upcoming season hoping he has a great yr. if not i will salute him for the postives he's contributed as a Steeler.

Maybe Ike's pissed at the way he played and the way the defense played. Maybe he is pissed that the defense is in this situation. I'm just guessing here. But he is correct to look at players like Hines Ward and James Harrison and either not be playing or not be playing in Pittsburgh.

This has locker room cancer written all over it. Life is not fair sometimes and nobody in the NFL is going to pay top dollar for Ike Taylors skills.

Just maybe if you made this play your overpay for play would have continued but for far too long now you have made my stomach turn.

Yes, he speaks his mind, but, that`s his right.:flag:
He is the first to admit that he can`t catch.
If he could intercept the ball reliably, he would be one of the best corners, EVER.
As is, he stops the other team from catching the ball 80 to 90 percent of the time.
It`s like some people forget how many times he has flat out shut down, our opponents` best reciever...
Yeah, he gets burned occasionally(more last year, than ever before, but, I ain`t ready to write him off.)...
"old age", or not...let`s see how he does the first 1/2 of this year... Ain`t like we can`t replace him, right???
What corner doesn`t get burned once in a while...?
Most have more help, than free-lancing Troy provides...
    Just sayin...
    Ike`s allright, in my book...:yeehaw:
    GO STEELERS!

Sorry, I disagree. If he is willing to air his PO'dness to a national radio audience then what is going to stop him from venting his frustrations internally to the organization week in and week out.

Obviously he's not happy with the situation. Do you think on the day he shows up to work that is going to suddenly change?

Ike will never be a locker room cancer. Ike has always answered any questions asked of him truthfully. He loves the Steelers and the rooneys way too much for that. The guy answered a question thats it.

Ike is always outspoken, that was typical Ike, he speaks his mind, he's one of the hardest workers if not hardest worker on the team, not a chance in hell he is a locker room cancer. People handle things differently, someone like Mike Wallace would slack off, someone like Ike will work harder.

Can you guys do me a favor? Those of you that seem to have a guidebook to what players should be happy to take a pay cut and shut their mouths about it, could you maybe send me a copy? I seemed to have missed getting one. I mean we went through this two years ago with Harrison and a lot of people thought he should be happy to take a pay cut just for the betterment of the team. i asked why did they single Harrison out, why were they unwilling to restructure the deal like they did for everyone else. He was labeled selfish and stupid and a lot worse. Once again people seem to have singled out a guy they think should be happy to take a pay cut for the good of the team. Who in their right mind would be happy about this? I mean I am taking crazy pills?

They singled out Harrison because he was 35 years old and scheduled to make 7-8 million in 2013, his play fell off. The players know their contracts aren't guaranteed it happens all the time to older players.
