My thing is if he had shown anything at all so far there wouldn't be the speculation of Harrison. So let's say they do bring Harrison back does that cause a problem between the two of them. Carter did say Harrison showed him a lot about the NFL when he was here. I just dont see where he has the room to complain.

http://www.steelersdepot.com/2014/06/james-harrison-speculation-bothers-steelers-olb-chris-carter/ I saw this one today. they must be going from the one TTF has up from last week. I'm not even sure it's just harrisons return that he should be worrying about if they are considering it. moats and so'oto were said to be playing in front of him in OTA's. as I said a while ago though, carter knows the defense and the staff likes that. carter was getting closer last year. don't forget the rookie will also see some time at OLB. not a lot of room at the inn for everyone and Harrison.

There was an article on Carter in the PG last night, but I didn't get a chance to read it. Might even be by the same author, but I'm not sure on that one. I agree Mac, Carter's got bigger things to worry about.

Carter is the piece that seems expendable... He better get his ass in gear!

I don't like it for one reason, Carter seems less than confident he can beat out an old man. He's in a world of world class athletes he should embrace competition and be confident enough a 36 yr LB can be beaten. If he doesn't like or is bothered by competing against a 36 yr old LB then how is he going handle opposing players?

Bring back James, cut Carter and keep either Zumwalt or Howard to groom.

Hmm, Carter hasn't shown me enough to get the extremely high paying position on a full time basis. So, I would say not being happy about the speculation, in regard to said position, is a start. Now what can he do to stop the speculation?

Action not words is the solution I think.

what we have on the team right now may be enough to beat out carter without Harrison.... carter hasn't shown anything outside of special teams... I strongly believe this is his last chance, so if he doesn't make a worilds like leap, then he will be out of the league

I would rather have carter. Harrison is done. bottom line, end of discussion in my opinion. he was done his last year here. he was a shell of himself and two years later and older I doubt he has improved.

carter at least can play special teams

Hes still better then Carter, I'd rather have him. I dont see Carter making any such leaps, at least Worilds showed something with his limited opportunities prior to last year. As a back up, this team would be much better served with JH on it then Carter.

to be fair worilds had a lot more chances to show what he could do than carter did, so of course he was going to show more.

a lot of people forget the games that carter actually started 2 seasons ago when Harrison was hurt... he had his chances and did absolutely jack with it......
he's one of the highest character guys on the team and a very hard worker with a non stop motor, but it just doesn't translate in our defense........ his time is up

"Slighted by reports..."??? Puhleaze. Carter hasn't earned the right to be slighted by anything! Put your big boy britches on, Chris, and go out there and prove you belong in the NFL before you start wearing your feelings on your shoulder pads!

That was really my point, what i have seen of him has been forgettable. I understand it takes some people longer then others but Im not holding my breath. JH at 36 can run circles around Carter.

I understand the babbling & calling attention to himself. He knows that all elusive paycheck few ever get is just within reach.

Worilds is a living ten million dollar sign.

This is it for Carter, it's now or never and he knows it.

that was his rookie year. without OTA's that year because they were coming off the CBA strike. worilds has played a lot more than carter to date. a lot. I'd sure like some young guys to step up at OLB, we really need it. that part of our game got real stale. D-line the last couple of years could have something to do with it too. it's just really hard to tell this year with all the different parts we will be seeing and the sub packages. strap em on first and then we can sort them out this year. I'm not counting anyone out yet.

actually, it was his 2nd yr., and he already knew the system........ i'm also pretty sure that even without Harrison, as I said earlier, that what's already on the team will more than likely be enough to push carter out unless he makes a huge leap

How is Carter even going to see the field? He would to hope either A.) Jarvis Jones underperforms or B.) Injury to either Jones or Worilds. Other than that, it will be special teams.

We need people to play special teams. JH is not playing ST's. Besides, he was injured and broken down 2 years ago, why on earth do people think he's still capable of producing? His back is likely still wonky and probably will be for life at this point. He may have been playing out of position last year, but that doesn't mean he wasn't also washed up.
