The bumblebees are back!

You do realize that one of the reasons (aside from extra merchandise sales) for the throwbacks is to honor the history and tradition of each team, right? The throwback that they are wearing is a replica of the uniform that the Steelers wore in 1934. They are a "throwback" to the early history and tradition of the team.

Now, whether someone likes how they look or not is a different matter entirely. I personally like them, but I used to peruse through pictures of old uniforms all of the time when I was younger, so I was already familiar with them several years ago when they started using these, and I already kind of liked them because of that.

 

I still dont like them but, since its the third year they are wearing them, its a non issue for me at this point.

 

I got a Ben Bumblebee Jersey for Christmas last year. I can't wait to rock it. My job sometimes get tickets to the Jets game. I told my boss if he get any tickets for November 9th please put my name on them. I will be rocking the bumblebee. :buzz:

 

You're right, of course, perhaps I should have considered a broader age of people. What I meant was that I was born in 1974 so the tradition of the Steelers unis for me started then. I would also argue that a uniform worn for just a couple seasons in the 30's is more of a historical footnote than a tradition. Bottom line is I just think they look goofy.
