It was announced today, I'm sure Tomlin and the Steelers are happy he wanted nothing to do with that tv show.

So much for the Steelers being forced by Goodell. I'll probably watch some of it, but the Falcons are one of the less interesting teams for me.

I'm actually shocked the Steelers didn't get it.

    I'm glad they didn't.

apparently the Falcons volunteered, which doesn't give the ginger dictator a chance to force it on anyone

We better make the playoffs this year. I doubt we can dodge this bullet twice

We will get it soon enough, just a matter
    of time.

So, the question is, how exactly does the NFL feel as though they can "force" a team to be on this show? Having never watched it I don't know what all the hoopla is about, but I imagine it has to be a distraction to some degree.

Because Goodell can do whatever he wants.

Because the owners voted on it at the owner's meeting last fall.

    Simple solution.
    Just keep making the playoffs...
On a side note, I`m curious what the article that Hines HOF linked to, is referring to, when it said "...Rooney II said it`s only a matter of time before the cameras follow us at Latrobe..."...

I`m sure he isn`t volunteering the team.
I wish they would have included a link to the conversation this quote came from.
Kinda curious why he thinks it`s "inevitable"?
Just because we are one of the most popular franchises, and us being on "Hard Knocks" would guarantee a big audience?...
That makes sense, but I would really like to hear the context, of where he made that comment...
Surely he still carries enough influence in the league, to get another team to "volunteer", if he didn`t want his to do it?
Plenty of other teams would enjoy the hype...
    GO STEELERS!
