    Some interesting stuff today.

Shazier made a great leaping interception. Reading about plays like this will make it difficult to temper my expectations (looks over at darcrav :glare:)

Munch is putting his stamp on the line already. I usually cringe when I hear about fighting but couldn't help grin when I heard Johnson and Heyward mixed it up, apparently Heyward was still fuming mad even later on. Can you say nasty line? :rawk:

TTF and I have been telling you all to keep an eye on JB, the Steelers may have found another late round gem.

It's hard to temper our excitement when you hear and see that the team is already developing an edge. Usually when they are chippy in camp and preseason it goes somewhere during the season and they don't have that same intensity I hope it stays this year

I still like DHB as depth and a special teamer, but Brown turning the corner could mean better things for the future. Sounds like a 6 WR year to me. :smiley1:

Did you read Shazier's quote about the INT? "People try to throw across the middle, me and L.T. not going to let things like that happen. We're going to get the ball." :smiley1:

I think that guy is a legitimate contender for DROY.

Wallace's absence is good for Johnson. As to the fighting, skirmishes break out every year at OTAs and more so at camp. If we can keep some continuity on the line this year, and see these guys playing mean consistently- look out.

Once Heyward gets those crazy eyes, he doesn't put them away for a while.

I can't wait to see what DL does with Shazier this season. He was covering AB during some plays today. When you have the fastest ILB in the league...the playbook opens up a bit.

Actually I was the one who said keep a eye on Brown per Mark Kaboly, when OTAs first started.

JB getting more time was because wheaton is hurt again.

    worilds still not practicing either.

DE Williams was back to doing individual drills again.

    I can't believe heyward punched munhaks Johnson.:facepalm::cool:

Good stuff! So Johnson is smart AND has a mean streak? I love it!! I am SO pumped to see Shazier in action. I think he'll be a ball hawking LBer. The Steelers have lacked ball hawks for a couple of years now. Mitchell seems to be a ball hawk too so all the better. I love defensive players that play with the attitude that the football is as much theirs as it is the offenses! I've got a feeling we'll get back to seeing turnovers on a regular basis this season.

A couple of not so positive things: Is Wheaton going to be one of "those" players? Glad to see JB stepping up but Wheaton needs to show us what he's got. It's time. Will Worilds injury woes start to plague him again? Geez, I hope not!

All in all, ALOT to be excited about!

You're late to the party bud. I didn't need Kaboly to tell me that. Been a fan of JB's for a while.

    Like the avatar, TTF!

Coincidentally, Gil Brandt just predicted he'd be DROY on SiriusNFL not 10 minutes ago.

I'd say it's OTA's Jack and with the complications from his finger surgery I would think they would err on the side of caution. Just my two cents. As far as Worilds goes this is his year to earn the big payday. If he isn't going to sign a long term deal he better show his goods on the field so his agent has something to shop.

Well according to Dennis Ericson(sp) the problem is that they are playing out of position, they aren't outside linebackers they are defensive ends and all they need is to pack on 30 pounds and put their hand in the dirt. At least that was what he said about Woodley so I would suppose it holds true for Worilds as well. They just need that hand in the dirt and they won't stretch the hammy so bad.

I hope he doesn't turn out to be another Le'Veon Bell. That would be horrible.

    Sure, "coincidentally." ;)

Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount lined up together in the backfield though only for a couple of snaps. Look for the Steelers to try and find ways to get the two on the field together in different packages this season.

I would love to see more of this!

Steelers have being try to put someone on the field that's healthy in the way of a ball hawker. Spence was to be that player and well we all know what happened there.

This defense got a whole lot faster and formidable. Will be a good year for us

Wheaton could be " one of those guys" He has not shown much yet. Lets hope he can stay healthy.. Him being out in OTAs is not tragic .. I guess we need to put it into perspective.

    Bman
