Coaches messed up with Big Mac last year

The coaches had him drop from 328 down to 313. That'sreally light for a NT and explains why he got pushed around. He is now at 330 and i think we are going to see the guy we thought we were going to see last year. Looking at pictures he looks a lot bigger this year.

He got "pushed around"? He wasn't healthy all season, but I wouldn't say he was pushed around. He played well.

I am glad his weight is up, though. I think it'll help, not only in the run game, but the pass rush, too. We're going to see more of him there, and I expect to see a couple guards toppled over.

I think Coach Mitchell said it best. Mac needs to be Mac and not try to Big Snack or Hokie. He does that and we will see something different from him this year.

 

hoke was only 305 and did well at the nose. I just read bigmac strengthened his ankles in the offseason. maybe why he dropped weight last year. do we really need 3 NT's though? even if they move them to DE they can't be near as quick as our DE's usually are.

Hoke also never had to start a full season at NT. At that weighthe wwouldn'thave lasted .

 

That's a ridiculous thing to say. You have no way of knowing that. Hell, when Casey was young he only weighed like 315 or so. And Hoke didn't play the same style as him.
