Vic So'oto and Justin Brown

So Mark Kaboly of Pitt tribune review says to keep a eye out for these two players heading into training camp, he thinks they can make the 53 man roster. If so Moye will be gone, So'oto a OLB? I never heard of this guy he's from BYU has good size 6'3 263 lbs I think he started his career with Green Bay, the Steelers do need depth at OLB.

 

you never read my posts. LOL I've mentioned so'oto since he got here. he's the only guy with size like worilds. he learned under dom capers but had some injuries. he should know the defense in and out. I think he'll have a good shot.

carter may too and most think not, but you know our staff and how we like to hang on to guys that know our system and have been here awhile. he will see at least the end of his contract I think. just because of JJ's youth on the right side. moats still needs to learn some I'd say because of the way they bounced him around in buffalo. he's much more of a pass rusher run stuffer on that left side too. I think they be trying to find that guy that can flip-flop as the final guy on the depth chart, so he may see time at both. what about zumwalt? who knows what they will do with him.

heck I'm not counting out dan molls in the middle either. camp should have some real good battles. it's a shame we can't keep them all somehow.

 

I agree. What we really need is some kind of farm team, like Wilkes-Barre for the Penguins. Or the Arizona Cardinals.

that's 1 more sack than carter has. that would be tied for 3rd best on the team right now. just sayin.

Reads a little like Harrison's early record.

 

Look at how many times James Harrison was released by the Steelers and Ravens early in his career, not saying So'oto will turn out to be great or anything but you never know.

 

One would think he should have stuck to the wall at one point in his career. I doubt he ever reaches 33 sacks let alone (JH) 66 even if he can kick start a healthy career! I suppose only time will tell if Vic can become a pimple on James a**.

 

In my jump ahead 53...I had So'oto making the team over newly drafted Zumwalt...but I also had them bringing back Harrison as the backup pass rusher....No Harrison..maybe they both stick. I do not see Brown making the team under any circumstances

we have 5 olb if we keep 4 , so'oto has to beat out only one between zumwalt and carter ...

 

It's possible Brown could make it over DHB and Moye if he excels at special teams.

 

If you look at the analysis done on SteelerDepot.com, you can see that very few players ever come from the PS onto the Pittsburgh roster. It is not used as a development team for us, but rather exactly what it says it is...a practice squad.

 

He's kind of lumpy.

I agree TTF, I think Brown actually has a legit shot at making the roster as well. Will probably come down to ST play.

yep he and simmons will have there name in MT's little book for that. they either have a gold star or an X by it.
