He'll be used in the slot, hes a threat to take any 5 to 10 yard pass to the house. He wont be used for anything longer, his numbers drop dramatically after 10 yards.

Didn't think they would draft a RB rd3 in the draft. Some also expected a CB or a WR. After the draft I looked up his profile and posted something like Hey! we were all right on the position drafted in rd3 it seems. In his profile he is listed as a WR but also a RB/CB/KR.:smiley1:

    Position: WR Pos2: RB/CB/KR Class/Draft Year: rSr/2014

Projected Round: 3 High: Late 2nd/RB-KRorSlot Low: 5th Stock: [IMG]

    Rated number 17 out of 325 WR's 100 / 2254 TOTAL

Also it seems this pick, like some think now, could be huge. From nfldraftscout.com reports.

Like Thomas, Archer spent most of his career at running back with the Golden Arches but scouts are split as to where he'll wind up in the NFL. He was invited to the Combine as a running back but given his slight frame and soft hands, it isn't difficult to imagine him ultimately making the conversion to slot receiver, a position he played with increasing frequency as his record-breaking career at Kent State came to a close.

His size worries me. I'd be lying if I said otherwise. He does seem very strong for his size. I'm more concerned for his durability. Perhaps he can add 10-20 lb.s and it wouldn't slow him down much if at all provided it was muscle.

That said, he appears to have a ton of talent. I can't wait to see him running in space.

Soooo, Brown, Wheaton, Moore, Bryant & Archer? Will we even keep a 6th WR? Are both DHB and Moye on the outs?

    Wasn't Willie Parker vertically challenged?

Nah, Willie was 5'10. I don't think his size was ever an issue.

this kid will line up everywhere and they better cover him because he will burn them quickly if not. go ahead and put a safety on him. the kid lifted 225 more times than mike adams did. he's one muscle. he'll be fine. I fully expect DHB to make this team too. ben threw more 20+ and 40+ balls last year then ever before. weapons everywhere.

I love our group of WRs. There are so many different options they can throw out there.

I just think he will be on the field more as a wr than as a rb with bell in the game, hence the change. it doesn't mean he can't line up in the backfield if they decide to run him on certain plays. wildcat formations could be interesting too. I agree hurtin, we have options and defenses will be hard pressed to have the right people on the field in the right spots to cover it all. let's not forget covering that speed all day and having to make tackles on our RB's with size all day will wear on a defense. I just hope the coaches can bring it all together early.

Personally, I doubt it's his permanent number, and for his sake, I hope not. How many WR's are going to make the roster?

I do not see the number changing meaning anything. We all already knew he was going to lineup everywhere and be a returner/etc. Maybe they just envision him more out wide than in the backfield so they changed it.

And also (at this point) I do not see where this change anything as far as how many WRs/RBs/etc are kept. You can still keep Bell/Blount and Brown/Wheaton/Moore/Bryant/DHB and Archer. Now say if they bring LSH back or something...then yes that could impact it some...but we'll see.

Isn't that the point of the article and hence it's meaning. He'll get most of his snaps in the passing game and on ST of course.

I guess he gets on the field more maybe as a WR. Keeps people guessing when he is going to get the ball, as opposed to Rainey, who lined up at RB, and everyone on the defense knew he was going to get the ball.

I agree with those who say this means very little. He is more of a weapon than a RB or WR. I would still say he is more of a RB than a WR and will never be a every down player. We will just have to be creative in ways to get him the ball, and he will be a good decoy.

All I know is we better keep Moye around.

Why do they need to keep Moye around he caught 2 passes last season, and he was a UDFA.

Yeah AB, Wheaton, Moore, Bryant, Archer, and DHB are the guys were going to go with IMO. Looks like Moye could be an outright cut and J. Brown still has PS eligibility. Khasif Moore will have a chance too. This means we will likely only keep 4 RB's (including W. Johnson). He's kind of the 6th WR and 4th (non FB) RB all wrapped up in one.
