I hope he brings some meaness to the team. I think that has been lacking since Joey Porter days. That face guard that he wore at Notre Dame scares the daylight out of me. He looks like hannibal.

I watched a lot of his games over his career (my wife is a Notre Dame alum and we live near South Bend) and I hope he works out for the Steelers, but I saw him play small in too many games to get overly excited about this Tuitt.

...And don't forget Thomas, who is currently our starter.

Honestly, if we see the 2013 version of Cam Thomas, I'm not sure he even survives the final roster cuts, never mind starting at a different position. Williams, Arnfelt and Mauro all have higher ceilings than Cam T as 5 techs. His roster spot may come down to a battle with Fangupo for the 2nd nose tackle spot if McCullers needs to head to the PS for a year. Maybe I'm selling Cam T. Short, but I think he was signed in case we didn't land anyone better in the draft, and has now become very expendable if he doesn't look better than he did in San Diego.

If he doesn't, I'm going to be PO'd. A million bucks is a lot of dead money to take on for someone who doesn't make the roster.

That's kind of worst-case scenario, and I am pretty sure he will be better here than in San Diego :)

I wouldn't label Tuitt as a mean or nasty player. He's definitely more on the friendly and laid back side. Doesn't mean he won't produce at a high level, but he doesn't bring a whole lot of attitude to his game. He's professional and just goes out and works.

Probably make it for that reason alone right there but also, I think peoples expectations are running a little high. Takes a while to learn defensive line, probably the toughest position to crack.

I am scared of Tuitt, If he shows up at camp at 285 this will be a good start. I am scared
of his motivation, we shall see.

He won't be 285. And I don't think you want him to be. I think 305 is perfect for him. He was 310 or 312 in 2012 when he dominated. Unfortunately because of injury he got up to 330 in 2013 where he saw his play drop off. From what I've read he's right around 305 right now, which is perfect. Kid seems like a hard worker. He'll take care of his business.

From what I've read he has dropped some weight and the steelers want him at 290.

From our draft class the nastiest attitude is a toss up between Shazier and Zumwalt.
