I hate to say it, but word is that there is going to be ALOT of purple & black there on Sunday. They're even offering a 2 for 1 deal to get people out!

"When the game ended Saturday, the Bengals flashed an offer on the scoreboard to try to drum up business for the final game. Season-ticket holders will be allowed to buy one ticket and get another free for Baltimore, a sign the game was nowhere near a sellout."

i feel pity for the Bungles players, imagine having to play for a team where the "fans" can't even be arsed to show up for a huge divisional game :(

Why the big no show? They finally have a QB/team they can be proud
of and the people don't want to support them? What is the main problem down there with
    those hillbillies?

Honestly I hope that the bengals (and browns) can turn their losing culture around and make their franchises winners again. A strong division makes for a ton of excitement and amazing rivalry games!

Mike Brown --- Frugal Businessman or Cheap Villain ----

“We are proud to be the owners of the NFL’s Cincinnati franchise,” Mike Brown said, on behalf of the Brown family. “We are committed to steps that will continue the Bengals as an asset for Greater Cincinnati.”

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...mmitted-to-keeping-the-bengals-in-cincinnati/

Now there's a ruckus over the above statement and what Mike Brown means by the words "Greater Cincinnati"?! I've been trying to understand what the deal is with the low attendance figures. Is it a concerted boycott or just the bad economy? Maybe a combination of both. The more you read about about the whole fiasco, the deeper it goes! The list of grievances is endless! Everything from the Hamilton County stadium funding to Mike Brown refusing to provide a "practice bubble" to the price of tickets. It makes you wonder that if they ever do get a home playoff game again, will they have another local blackout?!

Ther's some interesting opinions I found on this site that may provide a clue.

"The reason fans aren’t showing up at the games is for a few reasons. 1. Everyone was upset when Mike Brown wouldn’t trade Palmer. Yeah, I know he eventually accepted a king’s ransom, but he wouldn’t have for anything less. 2. The ticket and concession prices are way to high, one of the highest in the league. 3. Hire a GM and some more scouts for god’s sake. If he got his way, we would have drafted Ryan Mallot in the 2nd round (literally)instead of Dalton. Everyone is just fed up with his cheap ways. We all just hope hitting him where it hurts(his pockets) sends the message loud and clear. A couple of press conferences announcing changes to any of these things, and following up on the promises would fill the stadium again."

Read some of the details/comments of Mike Brown's recent dealing with obtaining the the remaining shares in the Bengals franchise. A grand total of only 586 shares. Makes me wish I could have bought maybe just a 1/4 of a share back in 1994! :D

When team ownership has screwed the fans over and over for so many years one winning season will not make things better and I can't say I blame the fans for boycotting the games. If the team stays under Brown's control it's going to take at least several years of winning on a consistent basis before the fans start coming back. There's simply no trust there anymore.

I live in Cincy and can honestly say that 75% of their fans are bandwagon and they grew tired of Mike Browns ways. Now they have a team and still don't show up. They got rid of the egomaniacs OchoStinko and Terrel Owens and also had the franchise QB quit on them. They start clicking and are a very promising team but the fans still won't show up. My co worker is the biggest bandwagon fan I've ever met. Has season tickets and eats them all the time cause he doesn't want to go if its cold out. He doesn't even try to scalp them and only went to two games all season. I can guarantee that he won't be at the game this week. I told him to give me his Steelers / Bengals Tix and even offered face value for them. He said he'd bring them to work and burn them in front of me before he ever sold them to a Steelers fan.

I think the ruckus is much ado about nothing. The article states that they matched an offer from a group of investors from outside of Cincinnati (New York). If anything having a partner from outside of Cincinnati might be concern about the team moving, not Brown owning 100%.

Whatever happened to that former Bengals fan who sold his "fanhood"/ loyalty on eBay last summer and became a Steelers fan? Does anyone know anything about him now?

He's back hating the Steelers and yelling Who Dey to whom ever he sees. Just bought an AJ Green Jersey and is attached to the back bumper of the orange and black bandwagon.

The Bengirls owner is now selling the tickets as buy one get one free.

The stadium holds around 65,000. They average 47,000. As per the article they've sold 2,000 seats. Double that and its 4,000.

Only 5500 more seats to go by Thursday!!!

Yeah, right. Good luck with that.

I could see the same thing happening here in San Diego. At least Bengal owners are offering an incentive. The Chokers would never sell out if not for the fans of their opponents and the Spanos' are happy with blackouts (Me too!).

Those fans are consumers of a product. That product is the Bengals. If they don't like the product, then they shouldn't pay for it. If the organization wants to sell its product then they should pay attention to consumer outcry about the product. And one winning season doesn't seem to be the issue for them. There were winning seasons with Palmer, etc. They want more.

Good for them for standing up to demand what they want for their money.

i'm not so sure about that. that qb will be a shot in the arm for them. he makes them a better team. something to build on. i don't think we can take them as lightly as we have in the past. he's a far cry better then palmer. at least i think he is. i would have taken him as our backup. or the kid behind tom tom. that was a decent group of qb's that were drafted last year.
