I saw this stat on twitter Latimer had 72 receptions and 1 drop last season, Lee had 57 receptions and 8 drops like I have been saying all along I wouldn't draft Lee in the 1st rd. I would take Latimer trading down in the 1st or if he somehow slid in the 2nd.

I realize that Lee had a down season last year, but I don't think there is any scenario where I could justify taking Latimer before Lee. Before his injury, Lee was considered the best WR in the class this year (ahead of Watkins). I have him as my 2nd favorite WR in the class. He could really be a big time WR in the NFL, and is NFL ready to plug and play right away. I just don't see either of those traits in Latimer.

I agree. Lee is #2 in my book behind Watkins. I'd take Lee over Evans.

Lee is definitely #3 on my Wr rankings. I can't ignore his sophmore tape. He was great. So what's the difference? QB play for sure. Not that Matt Barkley is a stud, be he was a really good college QB. Cody Kessler is young and just not as good as Barkley was. Get a QB that can get Lee the ball and he will be just fine.

The steelers normally visit or invite the person they pick in the 1st round. They havent talked to Lee although they have talked to a bunch of WRs. This makes me think the steelers are not considering him for some reason :(

Those drops are on Lee, Kessler wasn't a great QB but Lee had those passes in his hands and he was wide open. Another reason I don't want Lee he's similar to what they already have in AB and Wheaton, Latimer intrigues me he has a 39 inch vertical can win some jump balls.

The flip side is that few other WRs ever had a Matt Barkley.

Lee and Woods were pretty similar, Lee being a little bit better. Woods had about 600 yards on 40 catches while being the #2 WR and playing with a rookie qb (and not a great one either). He also only played in 14 games. Emmanuel Sanders had just over 700 yards while playing in all 16 games and having a top tier QB. Lee is the type who would at least match Sanders in year 1 and by his his second year would be a 1,000 yard WR.

That's an interesting point. By way of comparison, to my eyes Beckham and Landry made Mettenberger a prospect, not the other way around. Definitely worth considering. I still think Lee is a top talent, but I could see the concern about him being less productive without Barkley.

I wasn't trying to imply that Barkley made Lee, only that the other WRs being evaluated likely played with lesser QBs, and that has to be taken into consideration. Lee was banged up this season, and it hurt his production. He's a fluid, natural athlete, and polished at an early age. It's pretty obvious from looking at him that he's going to be a player if he can stay healthy. That's my one real concern about him.

Cody will be a better pro WR than Lee. Lee ran a slow 40 at the combine to be considered explosive. TE AC Leonard ran a faster 40. He also refused to run the 60 yd shuttle.

At Lee's pro day instead of trying to improve his 40 he said he could but didn't think he needed to and stood on his combine 40. He again tried to refused to run the 60 yd shuttle but after... some nudging... by the ones there who were decision makers he lamented and ran it. He just doesn't have the "work ethic" I'd like to see. He also doesn't have the best hands, a history of drops.

Cody will be drafted after Lee and some team next year will be smiling ear to ear.

I've watched plenty of both players, and Lee is much quicker running routes, and getting in and out of his breaks than Latimer. It's not even close. I like Latimer, and I think he has a chance to be a really good pro. However, when you watch him now, he needs work. As it stands now I think he'll have trouble getting separation. I think both players will be at least good pros, but I think Lee will pay dividends much quicker, and I see more upside due to his quickness. 40 times don't mean much compared to film.

Add me to the list. Always respect you Cajun, but I think you are really underselling Lee. I think whoever grabs Lee is going to look REALLY REALLY good in 2-3 years.

Another thing about Lee USC receivers tend to disappoint in the NFL.

I too enjoy watching the tape. I've seen plenty and I realize I'm in the minority. I'm comfortable with that because I don't follow a pack unless the pack is going where I believe it should be going.

A strength of Lee is his rte running. He is in the top level of prospects in that regard. He is quick in and out and I believe he is faster than his combine 40. Lee is an inch shorter and 25 lbs lighter than Latimer. My problem with Lee is two years ago he had a great season. This past year fell off and seems ok with that just like he is ok with his slow 40. Why not spend 4 seconds of your life and re-run it at your pro-day since you're already there and show what you can really do? He settles and I want a fighter!!!

Latimer is taller, bigger, faster and don't let the film fool you. Take into account he was battling a foot injury all season and still fought to compete. I like competitors, fighters, never say never guys. Rocky B. is my favorite steeler. Spence has my heart and I'm pulling for him BIG time. Latimer played against Dennard and scored a TD on him, he blocked him out using his Basketball skills ( he played small forward ).

I agree Lee may pay quicker dividends but in two years Latimer will be the better Pro WR and I comfortable saying that. He's a worker, driven for success and has the tools to do it.

Let me be clear. Lee has the tools. God has blessed him physically. I'll even go as far as saying if he really really wants it he could be a pro-bowler. I just question his desire and drive. In the 1st rd I want ZERO red-flags. Cody also has the tools and Zero red-flags.
