greg robinson?

    I seen a mock that had us trading up to 9 to get him. I would love to have him but it didn't say what we would have to give up to do that. anyone know what the cost would be according to the point system?

    I can honestly say if he falls that far I don't know that I would mind going up to get him. that said I wouldn't want to give up this years draft to do it

    No way. We are not trading up to get a OL guy when we have so many other pressing needs. Our OL is in decent shape. We do not need to give away picks to improve a already decent OL. With MM as our new OL coach....REALLY???

    I kinda agree about trading up but if the cost aint much this guy is worth it. it takes our of line from decent, which by the way I hope we aint settling for, to one of the best young lines in the league

    It's just not going to happen, and on different levels. Left tackle is the most valuable position, and Robinson is a true stud. If we were drafting at say, 12, then we could talk, but it doesn't matter because I can't see a scenario where he makes it past pick 6.

    Munchak is a great coach, no doubt, and I'm excited about him being here, but I think some fans might have their expectations set a tad high. He's not a witch doctor. Greg Robinson is a better left tackle prospect than this team has seen in a very long time.

    heck the top 5-6 may be better LT prospects than the steelers have seen in a long time. it's also difficult to gauge from the past tackles to what they seem destined to accomplish with the ZBS. it requires a little different type of player skillset to run that type of system. the pass blocking part of a LT is by far the more important part. if he can do that and is mobile enough to do that, he should be able to be taught the ZBS too. munch will not make their feet move better than they already do in pass blocking. that's job one, protecting #7. :cool:

    In all honestly, if Robinson was there at 15, we would HAVE to take him, but he won't make it past 5 IMO.

    I never asked MM to be a "witch doctor" with our OL. He has a ton of talent available to him. Adams,Beachum,DeCastro,Pouncey....ECT....JUST TEACH THEM......Thats all Im asking from a HOF NFL lineman as a NFL line coach....TEACH THEM.....

    I agree. Tunch said that Munch (Tunch and Munch, theres a joke in there somewhere) that Munchak will be great for Gilbert and Adams. Said that he will teach Gilbert how to be consistent and Adams how to prepare. If Tunch feels thats all that is holding these guys back, then that is definitely correctable. I have a lot of respect for Tunch, thats good enough for me to give these guys another year.
