If you can get Hageman in the 2nd and Gaines in the 3rd or 4th that would be good, I have never heard of this TE.

He's ranked somewhere between 6 and 10 as far as TE's go. 6'4", about 260. "a solid base-blocking #3 tight end and short area receiving option". (NFL.com)

I'm seeing gaines in the 2nd lately. he is a good cover corner with speed and size. it wouldn't surprise me to see him near the end of the first or early 2nd before it's over.

It only takes one team, but that seems really high to me.

As a side note, the last player from Rice to be drafted in the 1st was Earl Cooper in 1980.

I thought so too, more because of his overall game not coverage ability. NFL draftscout has him as the 7th cb with the arrow pointing up. the 6-0 4.38 must go a long way since his pro day. he was slowly moving up though. I see a guy that can shut his man out of a game, but don't expect much more than that at this point. of course that's not a bad thing. great short area numbers too. that's where I'm reading grumblings about gibert. we've seen players picked before that were ranked around that range in the 1st. a couple of weeks ago fuller was ranked as a 2nd, and now he's being considered 1st rd. rated. which I don't have a problem with at all. as you know I'd take him there. as for gaines, I like the kid but I don't think I'd pursue him that early.

I think our last 1st rd CB was Woodson. Don't see anything close to him here.

The team drafted Figures in '93 and Scott in '97. DB's like Woodson come once or twice in a generation IMO.
