Doesn't affect me. I'm lucky to make it to one game per year, so I'm going to pick a game and go to it regardless of ticket prices. I will say though that this tactic is usually a way to raise ticket prices without coming right out and labeling it as such.

I'm a Toronto Maple Leafs ticket holder and my season ticket package increased by a lot when they brought this in.

doesnt affect me either.. i think its a great idea.... a reg season game should sell for more than a PS game. a ravens game should cost more than a JAX game.. makes sense.. i go to maybe 2-3 games a year ... but have never paid to one so makes no difference to me .. but i think its a lot more fair for those that do pay..

Hopefully it does help with things. I like the idea of preseason/crap games costing less than regular season/big games...but I don't want that to mean a ticket that previously cost $75 on a regular basis is going to jump to $175 because it might be against Baltimore or something. If thats the case I could never afford to go to a decent game. I'm going to assume though that there would be a "cap" on the amounts and such.

I guess we'll have to wait and see once more info and all is released.

the only trouble I see is when I sell my preseason tickets to try and recoup some of my money, I will get less and have to spend more on certain games during the season. so yes it will cost me more.

Horsefeathers. The vast majority of tickets at the stadium are season tickets. One game may go down, and another may go up, but you can rest assured the total season ticket cost is not going down. Lip service, nothing more. This type of BS will only affect teams that don't sell out regularly.

Not going to mean much to season ticket holders. However I think it will impact those who decide to buy/sell tickets both positively and negatively.

Premium games are now going to have a bigger value to scalpers and going to cost more to buy...UNLESS those premium games fall at the end of the season and the game has become meaningless. Then the selling is really going to lose his ass.

Season ticket holder since 1991. Our seats were $100 per game last year for 10 games. 2 PS and 8 Reg Season games. I sent an email to the Steelers about their lowering the 2 PS games to $60 and increasing the regular season to $110 each, would still cost $1000 for the season but as I don't go to the PS games, I would have a better chance of unloading them. Evidently others have expressed their opinion as well. Still not sure what price per game is for the 2014 season!! Total price went up to $1048 for 2014

Isn't it funny that they raise the cap
limit and we see this? Expect the trend to
continue, projections for cap rising the next couple years I believe as the same as this year.

I don't get the argument about unloading the preseason games. Even though they're priced at $100 and you cannot sell them for $100 because no one wants to pay that much to see a preseason game, surely you can sell them for less. Like $60? The same $60 that you will be able to sell them for this preseason. Now it will be a push instead of losing $40, but you're just going to pay more for your regular season games. And now what happens when the Steelers are 6-8 in mid December you cannot go to the game and you have to sell your tickets? Good luck getting anything close to face value for them. Except now that value is $110 instead of $100. And what is going to make it worse is that they are going to have 2 pricing tiers for regular season games. Prime time games or games against good opponents are going to cost more than regular games, meaning that it could be a potentially bigger loss.

Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. ;)

To me, as long as the price for the overall package is the same it's just shuffling money around and will only make it potentially harder to sell you tickets if you need to. It's nothing more than taking money from one pocket and putting it in another.

how are they going to predict who is going to be a higher draw opponent prior to the season? I have also never had a problem getting rid of my PS tics for face value. so yes I am taking a hit. if they put a good product on the field, these half empty stadiums won't happen. I shouldn't have to pay more on a thurs. night to watch Arthur moats play LB and DHB drop passes to some team that may be 1-6 by the time the game happens. I'm a 4 seat season ticket holder since 1970. if they drop to 60 bucks I lose 320 bucks on preseason sales. sure I pay the same, but get less recouped now. I'd like to see the parking passes drop too. fat chance of that.

Neither have I until this season. I literally gave my tickets away to the Browns game. No one wanted them at face value. No one. If they continue on a prolonged course of mediocrity, then I can see it becoming more of an issue especially later in the season.

Oh, also a couple of season ago my buddy who usually goes backed out the night before a cold, rainy December game against the Bungles. I figured I'd try my hand at scapling them on game day. Wound up selling them to a scalper for $20 each.

I agree last year was brutal. I ate more tickets then ever. the part about losing your seating license if someone acts a fool in your seats has me real worried about scalping mine and I haven't since.

Yeah, I usually don't get rid of my seats to just anyone, but I have done it a few times. I have a bunch of people who I can contact if I need to get rid of them. Funny thing about the Browns game was that I got ZERO emails or FB messages (I usually do every other week) about that game and I wound up just calling a guy who usually buys them from me and telling him to just take them and take his 7 yo son.

The PSLs are actually my mother in laws though, so technically if someone did do something to get the PSLs taken away, it's no skin off of my back. ;)

But Im actually in the process (starting today) of transferring them to me, so they will be mine soon. She's only charging me what she paid for them too, so I'm kinda making out a bit. :applaud: When I get them, I plan on selling them ASAP (I think the rules are that they cannot be sold twice in a calendar year) and using that money to buy better seats. I'd like to sit somewhere in sections 510-513 and I think (going by the PSL market place) with a little luck I may be able to sell mine and get new ones for about the same price.

So if you or anyone you know is interested in PSLs, I'll probably will have two coming available at some point in the future. I definitely plan on running it by the people here first before I put them on the market.

I've never sat that high in the stadium. we have them in the 130's on the home side, but about halfway up. pretty good seats. my dad had eye trouble and lost one when the change to the new stadium took place. we had seats higher and he told them what was happening and they moved us to these. I did sit in the EZ on the home side open end for a pitt vs. Miami game. those were pretty good too. high enough to see over everything, but you could really see the plays develop from that view. different look.

we had level 2 more corner of the EZ tics in TRS. they weren't to bad. though I sat just about everywhere in that stadium at one time or another.
