Swapping Sanders for Bey is not a very good exchange haha but Moore for Cotch is one that is at the very least a push if not a win for us. Rookie for Moye is a potential big win for us, assuming that pick turns out. Even if the rook hardly sees the field, he will impact the game in 2014 more than Moye did last year (2 catches) and has an opportunity to grow into a very good player.

I'll hold off until I see who we draft and how they play before I judge the turnover, but it could go either way IMO.

I thought you weren't a fan of Sanders? I might be remembering that wrong. Anyway, Bey has the same production as Sanders, plus Bey can take the top off the defense, has elite speed. Last season was Cotch best year to date, not like we are losing Jerry Rice there, Moore can give us the same thing, he has 8 more TD's over his career in 2 less seasons. As far as a a rookie goes, Moye and J Brown aren't seeing the field either :lolol:

I dont think our WR corps is nearly as bad as people make it out to be.

No way Evans or Benjamin are "rookies that never see the field"

Evans would start the season opposite Brown...with Wheaton in the slot....Benjamin might need a little more seasoning...but would get plenty of looks early and often

If they draft a WR at #15 he will play, he may not start right away but he will get a lot of playing time. You don't draft a player like Mike Evans if he was available to sit the bench. Mike Wallace as a 3rd pick played a lot as a rookie.

No. With his achilles rehab, I wouldn't imagine he'd be in demand at this time either.

    Where is PWP????

Did he pimp DHB as the next coming to WRs in that draft?

    OK, it's a frick'n minimum 1 year deal for a WR w/ 4.2 speed.

Not a big fan but I;ll take that card.

    What's the problem here? LOL

We basically got Mike Wallace for what i believe will end up being a very small fraction of what we would have had to pay to keep the actual Mike Wallace. I realize that may not be saying much to many of you but he's still a player that I believe secondaries have to respect. He's a guy that can stretch the field and do it quickly. He definitely has issues with drops but he's still a weapon that teams have to respect because of his speed.

I'll revisit this post in 4 or 5 months to give my opinion. ;-)

I don't know why Moye would be the guy who needs to step up, though.

He is not basically Mike Wallace. DHB has 8 career receptions of 40+ yards ... Wallace has 32.

No he can't stretch the field. There's 5 years worth of evidence that he can't do it. He has 1 career TD on a pass caught > 20 yards downfield.

There are a lot of people forget just how good Wallace was those first 3 years. Not only the best in Steeler history-among the top 5-10 all time. Not the first guy who didn't handle success well.

I agree. But my biggest objection to the comparison is that their games are different. Wallace is a vertical threat. DHB's success (what there has been of it) comes from catching intermediate passes and bouncing off a DB.

He had doo doo for a QB almost all of those 5 years too. Lets see what he can do with Ben throwing him the ball, Wallace didn't accumulate those stats all by himself.

And when you have that kind of speed, you can stretch the field, if they send him deep do you think they will just not cover him? That alone will help open up the stuff underneath.

His 40 times say different. With that speed he can stretch the field. All it would take is him torching a team one time and they'd start paying him plenty of attention.

He's a "fast as the wind" type of WR with suspect hands....just like how a lot of people saw Wallace, especially his last season here. That's where my comparison came from.

Send him deep? Why didn't the Raiders or Colts think of that?!

I think it is a good signing ...Where are all the DHB and Redman haters from years past ? I knew the Steelers wouldn't let me down I now have a new/old pimp to root for....Redman had his time I am now the President of the DHB club....

His 40 time doesn't play football. People don't understand that 40 times don't directly relate to football speed. DHB times faster ... but Wallace plays faster. The same applied to Antonio Brown vs Emmanuel Sanders. Sanders timed faster, but AB plays faster.
