Not really on my list, but he had more catches last year than Wheaton, Moye, and Brown did combined. I honestly don't know how they would afford him at this point without extending someone or restructuring someone. I guess it depends on what his cap hit is.

He's got the same skill set as Mike Wallace and the only difference is that Wallace had Ben throwing him the ball. I seriously consider Wallace as only marginally more talented than DHB. At least he's somebody that can take the top off the defense. I wouldn't be that disappointed if we signed him.

Andrew Luck can throw. Why did DHB underperform in Indy? 16 games, 11 starts, 29 catches for a 10 yard average and 1 TD?

And, although Ben is a great QB, his deep ball accuracy is not very good. His skills helped Mike in the short and intermediate game, but most times Mike got open deep they couldn't connect, even if he had 5 yards on the defense.

Andrew Luck must suck, because DHB only caught 29 passes in 16 games last season in Indy. He started 11 games before getting benched for sucking, and then proceeded to not catch a pass the final 3 weeks of the regular season or in either of their 2 playoff games.

DHB's best is about as good as Mike Wallace's worst.

DHB stands for drops hella balls. It wouldn't hurt to take a chance on him he won't get more than the vet minimum.

Didn't he get hurt last year for a few games? Here's how I see it, they sign him, which very well happen, for a low ball contract, and he pushes for the 4th WR, that is after we take a WR in the draft. Something tells me the FO is just not too high on Moye and the other reserves at wideout . To me, there were games most of us thought Moye would see more time, and he didn't? Just kinda odd.....

I'd rather have Santonio Holmes back at $1 million/season.

DHB has had his chances and doesn't stick anywhere. Fool's gold.

DHB has speed, but that guy can't catch a football. I'm pretty sure being able to catch is a big part of a WR's game. I didn't watch every game of his last year, but I probably watched around 8 of them. I saw Luck hit him deep many times and many of them should have been a walk in TD, but he dropped it more times than he caught it. Forget catching in traffic, he can't catch when he's wide open. His numbers were awful last year, but the scary thing is he'd probably have even worse numbers if we made the huge mistake of signing him

lol DHB would get booooded our to hines field.. the way us steelers fans get on guy that drop a ball.. lol sanders last season ... i can hear the boos at HF now when he drops one right in the numbers .. open 10 yards in the middle of the field.. besides mitchell and blount signings there is another signing that has helped us to improve over our 8-8 seasons.. to me no other player signed as a .500 or better player..

I realize that he's been a major disappointment for a number 7 overall draft pick (or a number 70 for that matter), but he does have a very similar skill set as Mike Wallace and that is blazing speed and no better than average at anything else. In fact, he's faster than Wallace. For whatever reason, the switch has not come on for DHB at the NFL level and it may never. BUT...if it ever does come on he can definitely take the top off the defense and allow more room on the interior for guys like AB, Moore and Heath to roam around. Haley follows the Parcells approach which is that if you can take a cheap flyer on a former number one draft pick you do it. You'll strike out more often than not but on occasion you might put somebody in a situation that would allow them to have some success. I'm not sure what happened last year in Indy, but it is my understanding that DHB dealt with a nagging hamstring injury for part of the season. If we sign him on the cheap it wouldn't be a bad signing.

If the light was ever going to come on for DHB, it would have been last year. I know what you're saying Jack, but if you had watched him play last year, you'd realize he is terrible. The guy was given every opportunity to succeed and he failed miserably. He simply can't catch. It had nothing to do with an injury, it had to do with the fact that he sucks. He's not worth a penny because he brings nothing to the table

Admittedly, I didn't watch him play last year at all so I can't really comment on his performance. He apparently had some success at the college level and a couple of decent years in Oakland with no one throwing to him, so I say why not give him an opportunity if we have very little invested. If nothing else, Markus Wheaton will realize that, with the added competition through free agency and the draft, he'd better be picking his game up year 2.

Amazingly enough many sit and blast this option, but let me point out 2 things:

    1. He isn't signed yet, so let's relax a little.

    2. His best year was 2011 and was VERY similar to the numbers that Sanders put up this past year. That year his QBs were none other than Jason Campbell and Carson Palmer.

The defense has no choice but to cover him, so if he can take the top off and open things up underneath, it won't matter if he can't catch.

For the record, I would not consider brining him in for a visit, let alone signing him. He's proven that he won't be anything in this league so let's at least give OUR unproven guys (Moye and J. Brown) a chance to fail or flourish before bringing in someone else's discards.

Lance Moore brings something to the table, DHB does not, other than being a potential decoy.
