McCain, 27, was released by the Texans at the start of the new league year. Due to his size (5-foot-9, 187), McCain is purely a nickel corner and special teams player. He was Pro Football Focus' worst-ranked corner last season

We really need someone that can be good against the run plus the ability to intercept ... 5 interceptions in 72 games seems very low to me.

Seems like he may have coverage issues ?

i hope they dont waste money on a cb just because. there has to be someone better than him out there.

i would rather see them draft a couple guys than for them to bring in a guy that they already know isnt very good.

This isn't surprising, this is Colbert's MO... any hole on the team before the draft he likes to fill with a average to below average free agent signing to justify having no pressure to reach for a "need" in the draft.

He drafts Best player available where ever he can.

Personally I think this is a bad signing. He is not good at all..

Eh, he's just veteran depth. It's the Steelers MO. I don't know why people get so worked up about PFF grades. They should be taken with a grain of salt.

Well considering what we have left cap wise he couldn't have gotten paid very much. I think if this is anything more then a camp body it will be for special teams which weren't that great last year.

:this!: We need bodies. He can play ST and compete for a backup role. I'm sure he'll be an easy cut if we need to make it. Not a big deal.

Then he should fit right in with the Steelers secondary they had coverage issues last season.

AMEN! People forget how many holes this team has. Vet signings at this point just make camp more interesting. Doesn't mean he will be on the team, just a body as of now, and it will NOT change anything come draft day(s) so welcome, what was his name? Lol, just wait till they sign Bey tomorrow people will go nuts
