hey towel .. id love to see you set up a poll... if we only have money to sign one of the 3 .. which of these 3 would the members like to sign .. personally think MJD is wayyyyy out of our price range .. but lets say all 3 will sign for the cap room we have .. whatever it is 1.7 mil or whatever.. for the same price which would we rather have

In the Steelers newspaper they said MJD wanted 3.5 million a year you can forget about him, way too much for a backup. After the Thomas signing I don't see Carrington coming here Thomas was signed to played DE. They could probably afford Blount he would be the most likely to get signed.

I would vote Carrington, since he is the only one that could possibly be a starter. We have a big hole at starting DE (on paper at least). Either of the RB's would be good pick ups, and one wouldn't be better than the other IMO. The interesting thing is that we will have to get one of the mentioned RB's... We wont go into the draft with only 1 RB on the roster, especially with him being a second year player.

MJD isn't gonna get 3.5mil a year anywhere. We still have a realistic chance of being the highest bidder for his services.

I read earlier (can't remember where...been a busy day) that separate sources have said that the 3.5/year "report" was false.

For MJD sake it better be false because I don't see any team paying him that much.

I voted for MJD. My rationale for taking MJD over Blount is that I view Blount as a single purpose player. He's a hammer. You're not going to get much in the passing game or return game out if him. MJD can catch and pass protect. He's a true 3 down back who could spell Bell on any down and distance. Also, if the NFL doesn't legislate away the kickoff, MJD is a pretty decent KO returner as well. I think he's got plenty left in the tank to handle a supporting role.

I think Blount has the most upside behind Bell but I just don't see him signing with the Steelers. MJD - I don't see him signing here either. Carrington would be the most likely choice.

I voted Blount but it was very close for me between him and Carrington.

I just have the feeling that Blount would turn out to be another Keven Barlow.

So it's "none of the above" for me.

I agree with this. I chose MJD because like you said Blount is a hammer, he needs multiple carries to get going and the defense to wear down. MJD can do more with fewer carries and isn't reliant on the continual pounding of the rock.

Because he is pure smash mouth! He's young, and can wear a defense down. A great guy to have when you want to protect the lead late in the game. We had a problem doing that the last 2 years.

I voted MJD because of his versatility. Also you know you are getting a guy who is going to be a high character guy and not cause issues on or off the field. The key with MJD is how healthy is he? But with Muchak and the Haley type of offense I think MJD would be a huge asset.

i was shocked to see that MJD is only 1 year older than blount... i voted for blount ... but now im thinking MJD.. i mean hes done so much more but then again is he more worn out and blount has more gas lef in the tank? tuff decision but i like both... just hope that MJD cN accept NOT being the feature back.. he seems to be a little moody unless he has matured over the years.. ?

yep... take him off the list towel lol... looks like a 2 pony show right now.. seems the guys that we sign have no where else to go .. no other teams aggressively after them.. seems if we get into a bidding war where another team wants the same free agent as us .. they get em and we end up with our D*&k in our hand... shame..
