I think if Cotch goes I would rather take a 1 year deal with Santonio than Moore...Holmes has been somewhat humbled in his years with the Jets...no longer the entitled SB MVP....but an injured afterthought.....I think you could get a decent contributor

biggest issue is would he be willing to be the vet insurance....a piece of the puzzle....(like Cotchery and Burress have)

I must admit its a scary notion but I don't think I would be against it for the right deal of course. It would have to be strictly incentive based with no tolerance for his s**t. I don't think he can or ever will be humble but if there's one place where he might be able to "tone" it down ,it would be here. It's the only place where he's tasted success. Going back to where he started and working with Ben again might be good for him. That's if he learned anything being away....

    Aye, can't disagree here.

The height thing is clearly a red herring. Whether he can block is more important for this team.

:this!: Pretty much my thoughts exactly. I like Moore enough that I think it's possible he and Ben could form instant chemistry, the way Ben and Cotch did.

For those who don't like Moore's height... we don't use Cotchery for his height at all, so I see no drop-off there. Plus, Moore can go get the high ones very well for a short guy.

hes 1 year younger and 4 inches shorter...would take cotch all day over him..not sure what they are doing not getting him in here...althouigh he does deserve to test the market based on the year he had...

Punts, but I don't think the Saints have had him do that in a few years.

i'd rather a big bodies not necessarrily giant in height WR at some point that can use that body to wall off defenders. that would play more to bens game. moore as an addition to that wouldn't be a bad way to go. benjamin? coleman? moncrief? matthews? something on that order. moore to me is more of AB,wheaton. which may or may not be a bad thing. can brown or moye be the other? seems if we are looking at moore, maybe they don't think so. you know they like vets, but cotch was very underused in 2012. i still think the moore move is an if you sign cheap we will use you move.

Moore has been signed 2 year deal...replacing Cotchery.

    Figured we'd see this soon!

Good for them...from one Black and Gold team to another! Welcome aboard Lance !

Very good addition. He can be a weapon in the slot.

Moore, who turns 31 before the season, played behind rookie Kenny Stills in New Orleans last year, recording a 37-457-2 stat line across 13 appearances. He generally looked to be running out of gas, and was released by the Saints in early March. Moore had a few nice seasons with Drew Brees, but is a 5-foot-9, 182-pound possession receiver who won't cure Pittsburgh's red-zone woes. Moore is an uninspiring option to replace Jerricho Cotchery. Good signing. Takes a little pressure off of our lack of WR depth.
