While many fans are thinking it's doom and gloom for the Steelers, they haven't lost one great player who was in their prime. Sure there was some players you would like to be re-signed for depth like Woods and Cotchery, but these are the same players who were part of consecutive 8-8 seasons.

Woodley was in his prime as was Sanders.

i know Woodley has had some injury issues, but when he is right hes a monster.

Sanders had some drop issues, but he was a pretty good wr and now with the loss of Cotch they are extremely thin at wr.

Hope the draft is good, young guys will be getting some playing time. Looking more and more than we may draft a WR round 1.

I disagree. Don't see Woodley in his prime. He left his prime a couple of years ago. I think you see him start his decent only with a different team

Sanders is the one that hurts the most out of all of them, although we will be fine without him. The other losses... meh. This team is getting younger, and we will see top draft picks see the field very early in their careers again this season. This is the way the NFL works.

The next few years will be telling of the direction the team is headed. If we draft well, we will be back atop the AFC North in no time, and could be a legitimate contender once again. If we bust out on draft day the next two years we could be headed to some seasons that reward us with top 10 draft picks. We shall see.

I think Woodley will do fairly well as a 4-3 DE in Oakland. Maybe he'll be able to keep his hammies intact when he doesn't have to chase TEs and RBs in coverage.

Sanders isn't a big loss to me he's not clutch for a #2 WR drops too many easy passes, the Broncos overpaid for him. Wheaton will be able to replace him and he's a lot cheaper too.

I agree that we haven't lost a lot, but we didn't have a lot to lose, and we haven't added a lot either. It's hard to see how we reverse our current decline.

Thats because we didn't have any to lose.
Folks you have 4 or 5 ball players
on this team that are good. All the rest
    are expendable.

As much as I don't like Sanders, we will have to replace his career high 67 receptions along with Cotchery's 46, yes that's over 100 receptions to be replaced. To his credit, Sanders did have his best statistical year last year, so one could argue that he's in his prime. Even with a good draft and a healthy Heath, that's going to be difficult.

Woodley could have been in his prime but he's too injury prone to classify as prime as of today. He may regain his prime, but only time will tell.

The only way the free agent losses don't hurt is if we have replacements. Unfortunately we don't have anything at DE, #2 and 3 RB, OLB...

Woodley and Sanders aren't in their prime, how can they be when they're always injured? we lost nothing, other than 2 injury prone players, signing Sanders to a 5 year deal could come back to haunt them if he can't stay healthy, they just went through that with Woodley
