Hey everyone! Long time since I last posted in fact in that time I've moved to Denver so I need a place to discuss the steelers with my fellow black and gold brothers more than ever!!!

Easy question here. This year I feel we saw a growth of a new core for the steelers. Players including: Bell, Heyward, Worilds, Decastro, A.Brown to be specific.

I've always taken the philosophy, that if you are going to buy a team jersey make it count, make sure they will be there for awhile and in 2 years you don't own an out dated $200 jersey.

That being said do you think it's too early to get a Bell jersey? Do you think he will continue to stay healthy and be a great RB for the steelers for the coming years? Let say 5 years? Making his jersey worth the purchase in my mind :)

Or play the safe route and finally get that Timmons jersey....because we all know how much of a BEAST he already is!!??

Thanks in advance for any input.

Cheers to the steelers return to GLORY!!

I'm gonna be rocking my #26 Bell jersey next year! I guess it really depends on what you look for in a jersey. If any of the guys you narrowed down to are your favorite player, then go with that one. If not, go after the number you like the best. Of the guys you mentioned above, I like 26 and 97 the best but that's just me. It's a pretty safe bet that all of those guys will be in black and gold for a little while, so you can't go wrong IMO. Enjoy your new jersey!

I would wait one more season at least, give yourself the time as well as the Steelers to find their next can't miss player. $200 is a lot of money to invest in a player who isn't going to be here for the long haul, or to invest in a guy who is a flash in the pan for one season and then underperforms the rest of the time he is here.

Your screen name says it all. In this day and age of sports you can't buy any current players. It's a huge risk, just ask any Browns fan.

I think it would be worth it to get a Bell jersey.

This is why I prefer to get the old heroes jerseys - I have a Thigpen (obvs), Lloyd, and Kirkland. They can't leave if they've already gone!

However, I was considering recently investing in a Heyward jersey... something tells me he will be sticking around for a while.

Just play it safe and buy a Jack Lambert jersey.

If you're too young to remember or have not ever seen him play just spend an hour watching videos and you will walk in the store demanding a jersey immediately or else.

Just buy who ever your favorite player is and be done with it. Players always come and go...who cares if they might leave the team eventually. You are still supporting the Steelers by wearing a former players jersey. Don't make this into a bigger deal than it needs to be, haha.

If I'm going to spend $200 on a jersey I'll be sure to chose a current or former HOF caliber player. For all others go with the replica jerseys.

Exactly. Even the replica ones are expensive (esp. since Nike took over). But yeah...don't waste the money on the fancy ones...especially with your above concerns/etc.

I played it safe and got Antonio Brown's jersey. Being that my last name is also Brown - I figure it's a keeper even if AB leaves.
