Good for them. He said they'd be out there for about a month. I don't know about them being lazy.

Thought Woodley was going to be working with Shaw? Good to see them doing something though.

I applaud their efforts. Any extra work being put in is definitely not a bad thing. Kinda looks like Woodley realizes he needs to be doing this type of stuff. I thought this last season Dwyer showed he can put in the work, and although not in a huge way, it paid off imo.

I seriously doubt this jaunt in Arizona will be the only training his does in the offseason.

Why, because Woodley has been such a go getter in the past?

Anyway, I was just wondering when and if that is still on.

Yeah, February is when most guys start getting back into the swing of things. Later in the spring/early summer is when they start their 'hardcore' off-season training.

AFAIK, Woodley is going down to Florida with Ike Taylor this spring. At least, that's what Ike said a while back. Around 36 minutes in or so.

    [MP3]http://files.triblive.com/podcasts/sportstalk/121IKE14.mp3[/MP3].

He said Gay was going, and that Woodley said he'd give him a month in the summer. All the secondary guys, Steve McLendon, Vince Williams, Jarvis Jones, too. He also wants to get Curtis Brown and Antwon Blake to come down, too.

And because he has always been such a go getter.

I would like to see that. I think it was 08 and quite a few Steelers went down there and trained with Shaw. Holmes went too and Ike and Farrior were regulars. Several others were there also. I remember thinking that they were really getting focused and meant business for the coming season.

In regards to Woodley. This might really help him. These injuries are really ruining his career. I don't know why he did not try this sooner. Maybe Shaw can find some answers for him. If not, I got a hunch Woodleys body continuing to break down will finish his career. That is not good since he is a really good player.

Dwyer came into camp in great shape last season the front office made a mistake by releasing him and not Redman at the beginning of the season. Woodley also showed up in better shape than previous seasons.

I don't think it really matters what Woodley does unless he is taking a pay cut he is gone. I don't know all the ins and outs of restructuring so does him taking a payout even help? There is no way they can afford to take a 14 million dollar chance on him next season.
