ME 3! As much as we've suffered through, I think it is finally time for us to have a great line again.

These guys need to start getting together now on their own. I know the FO can't make them get together, but they can do this on their own.

Do what on their own? Teach themselves zone blocking? Maybe but not well. They've already gotten their feet wet with it, now they need a great teacher to take them the rest of the way.

    GREAT!
    JUST GREAT.

That's all we need is for him to come in here and turn our entire line into pro bowlers.
We win another super bowl or two or three and the guys want their MONEY, for being the best oline in the nfl.
Not to mention MUnchak will get offers for head coach and yada yada yada.
Sometimes, it's tough being a STEELERS fan.

I'm cautiously optimistic at this point. I have a hard time getting psyched because I was psyched the last two years, only to be disappointed yet again. This line has been bad since Tomlin got here, so it really makes me wonder if it's Tomlin doing something wrong. We'll find out this year I think.

It will be interesting to see this offence execute with a good Oline and a strong running game.

    Ditto,
This is truely a disturbing stat during Tomlins time here.
The Steelers, conversely, have ranked among the worst teams running the football the past six seasons. They finished last season ranked 27th in rushing offense and managed just 1,383 yards, their fewest since 1966.

Well, he was really doomed from the start with Faneca not buying into him and being butthurt by them not hiring from within.

I'm comfortable with Munchaks opinion on that, if he feels we need different pieces, then I'm sure they will make an attempt to get the right ones.

Nonsense. Do you really think that Faneca was so hurt by the Rooneys not hiring Russ Grimm that he basically wasn't going to work for the greater good of the team?

He didn't like "some rookie" named Roethlisbeger starting either but that team went 14-1 with him and Faneca working together.

Tomlin gets so many passes on his deficiencies it seems that mediocre 8-8 back to back records are merely acceptable now. I don't want Tomlin canned but he ain't all that either. Things that cannot be denied about MT. His OLines have always stunk. His drafted players aren't coached up very well.

I would have to think that if there is a player in the draft that he endorses, that MT and Colbert would probably heed his recommendation. Of course, that won't be necessary since Colbert is the best GM EVER! :smiley1:

I guess my point was they were doing the dinners at one of the lineman's houses at one point, I would promote that again with Munch giving them things to look at or tapes to look at. Just spending a 1/2 hour to an hour watching tape NOW would do wonders come mini camp.

LOL I about spit my cola out. I can't believe you went there. nope, yea I can. LOL:lolol::applaud:

anyway I hope they listen. he may be the kind of offensive mind they needed to help draft better fits. I'm impressed by the offensive coaching staff we have added. we have some wise old seasoned coaches at most spots. something I think we needed. better fundamentals being taught.

I give our wr coach a lot of credit this past year. he put a good product on the field, blocking included got better under him. I think we have some help on the line and at RB now. I'm ok with fitchner and daniels too on O. nice group and needed.

now if todd plays nice, because there is a lot to replace him right now on site. I hope they work well together. we are not that far away on defense and one draft may not fix it all, but I hope they don't go one sided in the draft and complete the O too.

I love the staff Tomlin has put together, I thought Mann was a great hire and it showed last season. Munchak is an obvious steal, Saxon should be a good hire, May 8th can't get here fast enough, I'm dying to see what they do.

On a side note, do you think Munchak will be our next OC?

I don't know about that. I do think he knows enough to help match up our O-linemen and TE's to make it a good unit if they allow him. now if they butt heads (TH and MM or saxon) then we may see something happen. I'm sure MM will eventually want a Co-O job or more. if it's at TH's expense will need to be seen. I do think MM being here will help sarrett tremendously. he could be our next line coach if MM moves up or on. I still like fichtner and maybe he can learn some stuff from MM. possibly MT,TH and Colbert too. I think he's a plus offensively in more than one way.

Le'Veon Bell drew Eddie George comparisons coming out of college. Now we have Eddie's OL coach. :applaud:
