I foresee comments about how this means that Tomlin is too familiar with his team, too much of a friend rather than a mentor, too soft on them, etc. etc.

If the comments about Pete Carroll are anything to go by, anyway.

 

I think it says a lot about tomlin. I mean we didn't make the playoffs and he is still #2. carroll is an obvious choice cause the seahawks had best record in football

 

I wonder how Dwyer voted?

 

I love the fact that Bill made the list because he doesn't seem like a players coach at all. I wonder which people voted for him. Tomlin was also the only black coach to make the list and since the NFL is predominantly black on the field I wonder if a lot of those guys wouldn't like to play for Tomlin because they feel like he can "identify" with them on a level that maybe a lot of coaches can't? Not that they want to do it from a racist standpoint but just from a sort of stand point to where they feel like their coach can relate to them more. Also 5 out of the 7 have recently been to the Super Bowl with Payton, Tomlin, and Bill actually winning them. So I'm sure that factors in too.
