I never really understood the hype of this guy. I didn't think he was anything special.

Kirby is a class act. If not for the fire I have to wonder if he would've been our OC? Regardless, I wish him the best.

Blast thought it was cool how he'd run down the sidelines with the running backs yelling at them to hang onto the football.

    Pathetic, huh, Blast? ;)

Yeah I'm with you. I never understood it either, but I really don't understand the negativity either. Guy was just Blah and probably won't be missed.

How is Wilson any less likely to advance here than in Minny? Either way he can interview for open OC position throughout the league. It's not as if the Vikings are looking to fire their new OC ... if they've even hired one yet.

:lolol: What a tangled web you weave, Jack. Au contraire my deceiving friend, that was merely to point out that our coaches indeed tell our players about ball security, something you and others amazingly have trouble believing

For the reasons I already speculated on. And I believe the Vikes hired Norv Turner, someone who is likely to get another HC offer. Making Wilson next in line for the job. It was reported Wilson wanted to leave Pittsburgh, must be a reason for that, could be a combination of the 2 reasons I gave.

Kirby was Hired by Tomlin when he took over in 07'. He seems like a good guy, class act but not sure he was a great coach and always wondered why he was the OC in waiting, not sure he was qualified. I also don't think our run game has been any good since he arrived. Some can blame our Ol while others blame the caliber of our RBs.

Lateral move? How does this help him? He going to a new coaching staff so the opportunity to move up there is not better. There is the best RB in the NFL so he can't say his coaching improved anything, in fact, any downturn in AP's dominating performance will probably be blamed on him. Here he had a rookie RB and other young backs coming aboard to groom and coach-up. Seems a bad move to me.

As far as we are concerned, we'll be ok, no big loss. Any soothsayers out there who predicted our OL coach wanna predict our new RB coach?

I've got a very good source who knows him and he can't stand Haley. He waited to see if Haley was leaving or not and when Haley didn't he did.

This seems like a very likely scenario.

As I said on the other thread. We and the team stuck by him in his time of troubles. We needed an O coordinator. You don't fire him because Wilson comes back to work. And if he is jawing he wants out of Pittsburgh. Someone drive that mother HUNCHER to the Allegheny County Line and push him out of the car.

In that case, good riddance to Kirby Wilson. If he can't do his job despite his personal feelings, then I personally wouldn't want him back.

Sounds like a much easier job too..... "AP, just run like you normally do"..... sounds like a walk in the park job to me. :roflmao:No sense in trying to develop talent when you can make a lateral move to "coach" arguably one of the best RB's in the game.

Huh? Has nothing to do with not being able to do his job, has to do with working for an a boss he hates, I'm sure we have all been there. Wilson is a bad guy because he decided to find a better situation for himself? Does anyone really have doubts that Haley is an a-hole?

Yes, I have my doubts that TH is an A Hole as he is usually labeled. He may not be your run of the mill choir boy and I know he's a my way or highway type of guy but that is what a football coach should ultimately be. If Wilson couldn't handle the change then good riddance.

If fans can't see that his style is better for Bens career overall then they just have some sort of vendetta and grudge towards Haley.

I would much rather have Haley as OC then just your average RB coach.

Maybe stiffing people on a bill makes them ok in your book but thats a trait of a effing a-hole. And again, doesn't matter if you think Haley is a bad boss or not, if Wilson does, then why is he a bad guy for leaving? You never had a boss you hate? Damn lucky if you haven't.

I wonder if Tomlin will also bench AP for fumbling??? LOL. I think that really is the only weakness in his game ultimately.

Haley is a real big a hole and a lot of the coaches don't like him but not to the extent Kirby did. Their was also the rumor of four coaches turning down the steelers oline coach last year due to haley.

Norv Turner is a 3 time loser (Washington, Oakland, & San Diego) as an NFL Head Coach and is already 61 years old. I don't think he's getting another chance to coach a team unless his head coach goes down due to health issues or gets fired mid-season.

Winning is better for Ben's career ... and more importantly it's better for the team and the franchise. I could care less if our QB is healthy if he's watching the playoffs on TV.

You will care when Ben misses 8 games and we miss the playoffs as a result. A healthy QB significantly increases our chances at making the playoffs. Ask GB if they care about having a healthy QB.

Ben can't win if he's not on the field.

In general most coaches and bosses are a hole ego maniacs and aren't there to be a players / employees friends or mentor. I look at results and if he can work with Ben (who also has been know to be an a hole egomaniac) then I am all for the success of that working relationship.

And Yes, I have had some of the biggest jag-offs as bosses and some of them suck but most are very successful at what they accomplish. I'm not asking if you want fires with that BTW. I have a well established career.

I wish Kirby Wilson much success in Minnesota and I know that he will be successful with having Mike Zimmer as a HC and AP as a running back. It's not even in the same conference as the Steelers so it won't matter much unless they reach the SB together and then I will root against him.

TH is finally reeling in Ben and it seems to be with much success in possibly having Ben control the game and take less of a beating. I am all for that.

Would I want Kirby to come in and take over instead of TH at this point? No way.

How many sacks did Ben take the first half of the year? I don't know why Todd Haley gets so much credit. Ben's been begging to run no huddle for years, finally gets his way, and it's "Haley's" system that's improving his game?
