difference between the steelers and pats

the steelers lose heathhhhhhhhh early in the season and open 0-4 without heathhhhhhhhhh...... gronk goes down for the pats and they still put up 40-50 points ... while i hate bilicheat it seems that he can make THE STANDARD IS THE STANDARD work.. while tomlin just talks the talk... of course tonight the game turned when the patriot tripped the runner on 3rd down and of course the refs missed it and that quickly killed any hopes of a colts comeback... but even without the refs.. the pats seem to just plug a different guy into the SYSTEM.. 40-50 points after losing welker in FA and hernandez to prison.. and gronk to injury... amazing.. just amazing ... so i guess THE STANDARD IS REALLY THE STANDARD... just not so much in the Berg...and probably 31 other teams

I agree with what you're saying, though. Hate the Pats, but have come to respect them. You don't have 13 consecutive winning seasons by accident, one of those with Matt Cassell as quarterback. Belichick always seems to have his team prepared. They always beat the teams they are supposed to beat. Our HC could take a few lessons from that.

 

Where's the "Berg?"

 

Super Bowl wins are always THE goal. But you have to get in the tournament to have a shot at the Lombardi. Winning seasons generally get you in.

 

I bleed black and gold. I hate the Pats. But when did lately start? 2005? Why not 1985? Since then the Patriots are 3-4 in the Superbowl, Steelers are 2-2. Has lately started in 2010? Since then they are both 0-1.

In the end, both are very successful franchises. This year the Steelers did not have the "starters" to be successful, much less the "depth of backups" to do so. The point was, the Patriots had depth on their roster, and how can the Steelers emulate that? If we should just merely dismiss them because we've won more Superbowls, than I have to disagree.

IMHO, the Pats do well to fill their rosters with quality players, players that come cheap because they weren't used correctly in the system they came from or that system just sucked, such as Blount. Whereas our head coach and front office made some critical errors in evaluating talent at the beginning of the season such as keeping Redman over Dwyer, starting Hood over Heyward, Adams over Beachum, letting Ta'amu walk, etc.
