Jaworski giving Alex Smith a hard time

Anyone notice ol' Jaws coming down on Smith for the 49ers first failure to get into the end zone? The throw on 2nd down to Williams looked bad at first, but on the replay you could clearly see that he threw it to the right spot and Williams ran right past the hole. If Smith had thrown it to where Jaws wanted, it would have hit Farrior in the face mask. Then on 3rd down, Polamalu jumped right in the way and Smith had to throw around him, and Gore just barely missed it. Jaws again dismissed it as terrible accuracy, but if he'd thrown it even an inch closer to Gore, Troy would have knocked it down. I felt this was pretty obvious stuff, and he blew it. Not that Smith was great all night; he blew it on the throw to Crabtree. But what kind of work is that from Jaws? He's a quarterback, he sould know better.

Gruden briefly mentioned that Williams ran too far, but Jaws overpowered him and Gruden backed off. Jaws repeated the claim later.

 

I don't pay attention to Jaworski. The guy is a douchebag.

 

Jaworski was pretty good, but he talks like he beat the Raiders in 1980 and he's in the HOF. At least Gruden and Dilfer have rings!

He does seem to be pretty good with Xs and Os, though. He's better than Gruden talking about a big blitz when we send our three lineman and a linebacker while keeping seven guys in coverage.

 

doesn't he watch film like 25 hours a day or something?
