Yep. I'm still more angry about the loss to the Dolphins. That game killed us and the last part of the year they couldn't move the ball against anyone else.

Funny. I hate Starbucks but my kids love it. Took them on vacation last year and they talked me into going to Starbucks since "it was right off the exit" where I was getting gas.
Everyone got their foo foo coffees and mocca's. She handed me the bill and it was like 40 bucks. I told everyone never again.

Here's an idea. At the Strike of Midnight tonight Roger Gooddell and Mike Periera can flip a coin at Times Square and decide whether the Steelers or Chargers play against the Bungles.

They can even have the ref there from the Thanksgiving day debacle years ago just so we can feel the pain even more.

I hate Starbucks too. A few years ago I finally figured out what their coffee smells like.............skunk! Next time you smell a skunk that's been hit on the road, see if it doesn't make you think of Starbucks right away!

Hell, how many non calls do we see on any given Sunday, I watched Dallas getting away with about 6 non calls Sunday night, Murray lowered his helmet and speared two defenders twice, and the refs let it go both times, even Collinsworth said it was illegal and Murray will probably get fined, so the cowquacks never got a single penalty for 3 I/2 quarters then they get a trumped up delay of game after the refs realized their home cooking was getting so damn obvious they had to do something, that was the lousiest officiated game I saw all year, blatant interference, spearing, holding, you name it, and the cowsucks got away with it, Pereira should have been asked about that game instead of 1 non call he could have taked about 6 or 7 non calls....

    Yes it is.

Who am I to tell a bunch of urban hipsters that want to throw themselves into debt by spending $8.50 a day on something that would taste better down at the local Chevron for 1/4th the costs?

    A) Starbucks sucks ass. It tastes like burnt, strong coffee. However their new Blonde Roast is much milder and much more tolerable.

    and

    B) Not so sure about the fumble. Had it been ruled correctly on the field it would have certainly gone to review and IMO been overturned because Weddells helmet came off. Haven't watched enough of the replays to determine EXACTLY when it comes off, but IMO it is before he fumbles the ball. IMO call gets overturned.

I'd like a GIF of this to post every time there's a discussion about the ref's calls on here.

Since the NFL publishes fine reports for players and coaches when they screw up, I'd love to see them publish the referee scorecards. It'll never happen but it would be interesting to see them.

If they dock us a draft pick after this....I'll refrain from typing what I really want to say.

You know, you bring up a really interesting point. The NFL fined Tomlin 100K and is going to dock the Steelers a to be determined draft pick because of the potential impact on the post season and draft position. Well lets see how they handle the fact their own actually did impact the Steelers post season position.

I don't expect an additional pick as compensation, but I think a nice quiet decision to not further punish the Steelers by taking away a pick is definitely in order.

Why does everyone act like it's a foregone conclusion he hits the FG after the flag?

Yeah... I think it's probably likely, and I wish they had thrown the flag but to say "the Steelers should be in the playoffs" is sensationalism.

Who effin' cares. I've heard so many people say the Steelers got screwed. How can you say an 8-8 team got screwed out of the playoffs?

You may be right.... the curious thing to me is the WAY in which the decision was announced after the Chiefs player had run the ball back for an apparent touchdown with no whistles on the field. There are some very good officials who take the time to explain the ruling on the field, especially with replay and everything else involved. This referee's explanation was.... "The Chargers reached the line of gain. First Down" I mean, these are human beings and all and perhaps the enormity of the situation gets to them as well..... (giving them the benefit of the doubt here. It's hard to give into any favoritism since you never know what plays you're going to be presented with if you really wanted to bias the outcome). However, the more cynical side of me wants to say when the explanation is "The Chargers reached the line of gain. First Down" the unspoken words are "and I don't need to explain ANYTHING to you, so THERE." Okay, so the rule is now that the play is OVER once the first down is achieved? Got it! If you discount the helmet coming off, as these officials seemed to, the only choice would have been to spot the ball at the 29 or the 31 1/2. Not right at the 'line of gain' (which apparently ended the play in this case).

What really is hard to take is that the Chargers seemed to be rewarded for a mind-numbing 4th down decision. Nice call, Weddle.... you didn't apparently fool anybody given the outcome, you would concede FG position for a chance to possess the ball at your own 30 (rather than punt to the Chiefs' 2nd/3rd team). It's difficult to see that get rewarded, but c'est la vie....

I drink Dunkin Donuts. Starbucks who?

I was talking to my son who is a Chiefs fan who said the Steelers got rooked and I stated on the field goal miss that it seems that Succup was concerned about the overload on the left side that's why he possibly hit it more towards the right. He is very automatic. There are TWO zebras standing there. One right behind the overload! Yea yea, they shouldn't have made to the playoffs with an 8-8 record, but, they had a chance for the post season, and it was taken away by the zebras. They work for the NFL. Teflon. And overwhelmed! Time for full time officials, not these weekend warriors. Oh, and I don't give a crap about other teams official blunders, it's the Steelers I worry about. I'm sure if they made the post season, some would have not watched, correct? Everything fell into place, then the zebras F it up! Yes, the Steelers got screwed. As well as the fans of the team!

It is an interesting point. Did the NFL commit to fining us a draft pick in the end? I lost track with all the hearsay around the event. If they did, then I doubt they'd go back on themselves on the basis of bad calls by the refs. That's not to say they shouldn't, of course. In an ideal world, it would play out like you say, Bobby - a quiet step back without too much fuss.

Perhaps I would prefer the NFL just to think about how ****ing ludicrous the taking of a pick was in the first place, and go back for that reason.

I would also prefer them to make every play technically reviewable. Both are probably just wishful thinking...
