I remember a few weeks ago comparing Tomlin's and Cowher's records, they were similar with Tomlin having a slight edge. Yet, there are those on here who assert that Tomlin should be doing better because we have Ben. Fair point, but we still need other players to compliment him. This defense was one of the worst Steeler D in a long time. Furthermore, overall, we ran the ball poorly. Those two issues are in part because of two factors, 1- paying for success and 2-players becoming injured. While there are those who are critical of Tomlin letting Holmes, Wallace, and Allen leave there are still those who are critical of who has stayed. In this era of free agency, it is difficult to stay on top, because you pay a premium for the players who got you there. For the Steelers, rebuilding looks like 8-8. For the Browns and Raiders, typical seasons look like 4-12.

Yeah, right over my empty little head. If you post without trying to condescend others, they'll probably be more willing to carry on a discussion with you.

Ummm,if I had time,Id find the players tomlin cut.what he did to Hines was abysmal... And he'd have taken a huge cut to stay.why should I look at the Texans? I'm a steelers fan.did Lloyd and Greene play qb?omg...

You understand that EVERYONE on the internet can read what you're saying right? This is a public forum. I am really trying to help you. How many Super Bowls did we win with Lloyd and Greene? Just out of curiosity.

No coach deserves kudos for an 8-8 record, good coaches don't go 0-4 to the likes of titans and Vikings, poor coaching plays into poor playing, winning a couple of games in December doesn't erase the poor coaching starting in September through November, Tomlin gets nothing from me but an F grade for two poorly coached 8-8 seasons...

seriously, Tomlin cut Hnes, and you were offended? Take off the glasses man, cuz HiNES was DONE. Look at the other guys like Harrison, Holmes, and Wallace, have we lost anything were? The biggest issue we have is the luck of quality players due to BAD drafts. The Texans were mentioned simply bc you don't understand that they close to the SB last year, came in this year and started 2-0 only to drop 14 in a row. You think that the Steelers couldn't have done the same? Tomlin kept them together and ended up 8-8. I don't care who they beat, as Diamond points out, but did anybody think is team was SB caliber to begin with? Heck no! If Tomlin takes this team to a subprime record next year, provides there are no serious issues, the we talk cutting him, and moving on, but some of you wanna hire and fire every year.

We could be the Browns, Texans or Redskins. Look at that mess.

I find the multiple 12-4 seasons and the Super Bowl appearances he brought more enjoyable.

I'm sorry but getting rid of Tomlin after he basically still earned us a playoff birth with this team after that start would put us in the same category as Cleveland and Detroit always searching for better coaching.

This team is rebuilding, it has been since before last year. It is going to be at LEAST another year before we take the next step. I do believe this is the year we actually go out and spend some money again in Free Agency. Not a lot, but looking for some guys who are being cast away who could help our case.
