Please. I've played sports all my life and still am at 47.

If you think my posts are unintelligent and arrogant, why are you having this discussion? Fact - Ben is NOT in contention for MVP this season. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Apparently not if you thinks its all about the stats

Saying he is going to win it and should be in consideration for it are two different things... fyi

Is he going to win it- no (Brady Should)

Should he be in consideration for it the way he has played the back end of the season, constantly bailing out the team- yes

I know he difference between "should win it" and "should be in contention" but thanks for the clarification. Too bad Ben is in neither category.

Apparently not what? I didn't play sports? Yeah, you're right since you know me so well. Not... Anyway, let's consider the title of the award. Most Valuable Player. What is value in the NFL? Value is production and production = stats. They don't give MVP to Offensive Linemen because they don't keep stats on them.

Ben consistently bailed the team out? You mean when they were 0-4 though the first quarter of the season? You mean when he was turning the ball over on average of almost 2.5 times per game (picks and fumbles) including a 5 turnover game, he had a 1:1 pick:TD ratio and the offense was putting up 14 PPG during the 0-4 stretch? THAT consistent bailing out? Gotcha.

Let's take a look at last years MVP - Adrian Peterson. Lead the league in rushing yards, avg. yards, attempts/game, yards per game, 1st downs, 20+ yard runs, 40+ yard runs, was T-2 in fumbles and 2nd in TDs. Why did he win the MVP? He dominated STATISTICALLY.

You might think Brady should win it but you're wrong. It is Manning hands down unless he completely folds for the rest of the season. Bank on it.

You are obviously a not get it guy so I am going to make this brief.... seasons 16 games long yet all you do is quote the first 4 games---gotcha

Of course Manning is going to win the MVP --thats what the NFL does...whoever has the best statistical season wins MVP (but if you played sports and coach you should know that it goes well beyond just the statistics) ---

but again Brady should (see the difference) and ben should be in consideration (see the difference)

Brady is taking arguably the least talented offensive team to the #2 seed and he beat manning and the broncos btw.... Brady is the greatest ever IMO

All this comparison crap is giving me a headache.

Brady is great. 3 out of 5 Super Bowls.
Ben is great. 2 out of 3 Super Bowls.

Paty Manning. 1 out of 2 Super Bowls. Great Regular Season QB. Look at his Post Season record. Under 500. Regular Season wonder. Period. Watch Paty choke it up again. Then he can go make lousy Pizza's.

Ben is the franchise. Watch this franchise when he leaves. Better get out your crying towels now. Ben is the 2nd greatest QB this team has had. He will win another Super Bowl. Rack it. Tough as nails.

Oh, and I would argue that Bradshaw along with Montana are the best ever. 4 for 4.

Thanks for making it brief. I get what you are saying but I think you are dead wrong.

I talked about the first 4 games because you mentioned Ben consistently bailed the team out which he did not do. I also mentioned the first 4 games because the MVP is about he entire season, not just the good 3/4 of it that you choose to use for your argument about Ben battling Manning for MVP. MVP also isn't about the greatest ever, it is about a single season. Manning (in the experts opinions, not mine and not yours) is hands down having the best season of anyone in the NFL regardless of position and Ben has not been mentioned in one MVP discussion I have heard or read.

All of this discussion is nothing but opinion but it seems like my opinion matches the experts and yours doesn't. Let's see how close Ben comes to winning the MVP and we'll decide who was looking at the race more logically and who was looking at it more emotionally.

i guess i havent been that clear for u to understand...

Manning is going to win it... hes not the mvp...

Brady Should win it... He is the most valuable to his team not the player with the most offensive output...he brings them back time after time and hes doing with nobodys...he makes julian edelman look like andre reed...

Ben should be in consideration... is he going to win it ..no...

again guy time and time again bails the dog **** defense out and garbage play calling... does he do it everytime..no ...no one player does it every time.

you want to throw out stats...ben will throw for 4300 yds and 30 tds with a garbage offensive line and limited weapons...sanders is average...AB top 3 wr in the league other than him..they are limited...

must not watch that much football...

'72 Dolphins would have.............if there had been a 16 game season. Who, outside of Miami, remembers the receivers from that team? Does that make Griese the best ever? After all, he threw to out of work Piggly Wiggly workers and had a "No-Name" defense!

Id have to agree that a measure of a persons value to thier team or league goes well beyond statistics.

    maybe ...maybe not ....

big difference between brady and greise...

paul warfield was a wr on that team btw...he's in the HOF

and they also had 2 HOF linemen and a HOF RB

food for thought 07 Brady had Lawrence Maroney, and Kevin Faulk, and Sammy Morris as his RBs-----Look what he made Moss look like...and what happened to moss after he left new england and what he was in oakland...non existant

The Steelers chances of making the playoffs going into last week were far greater than Ben's chances of winning the MVP. Heck, the guy never even wins team MVP. Betcha, AB gets it over Ben.

Tell me, when was the last time anyone won a league MVP playing on an 8-8 team? It doesn't happen, and you don't have to be a Ben hater to understand that.

Are you kidding me? Manning is going to win it but he isn't the MVP? How does that make any kind of sense?

Brady is is the most valuable to his team. Wow. Ben is the most valuable to the Steelers. What's your point?

Ben will not be in consideration because he hasn't been consistent over the entire season. Is that clear enough for you to understand? Time and time again he bails out the team... except for the first quarter of the season. That is not consistency and does not show that he deserves to be in contention for MVP of a 16-game season.

Stats - 5100 yards vs. 3800 yards. 51 TDs vs. 27 TDs. Yeah, they are so close!

Have a great night. I'm done.

Honestly I can see the agreement for both Brady and Manning as league MVP. IMO it's still undecided and will come down to who makes it further. If Manning is one and done and Brady wins the SB, I think it's Brady's despite the better statistical season on Manning.
