sanders and garvin will have their knees evaluated. who gets the start for sanders if he's out as the #2? cotch has been very good this year from the slot. do they move him there or just infuse wheaton at that spot? would moye be a better choice against the brownies?

as for garvin, westerman or whatever his name is could get a jersey next week and possibly be used.

I know sanders had a catch today, but did any WR other than brown have a catch today?

I say Wheaton gets the nod over Moye. I would think Cotch takes the slot too.

If they use todays game as any basis...then Wheaton would could the nod and then Cotch continue playing his current role.

Agree. Moye is a longshot IMO.

I'm really gonna be surprised if Moye even makes the 53 next year. They've just not used him. I say that if we do draft a big and powerful receiver you can take it to the bank that he's gone. You feel the same? I just don't think they view him as a guy with an all around skill set.

Ben hit him once or twice before the half.

Wouldn't read too much into that, Wheaton hasn't gotten much playing time either, they're just buried on the depth chart.

But he has been ACTIVE though. Moye hasn't even been that for most of the time. Wheaton gets to play a lot on special teams too. I don't know why but for some reason it seems like every time Ben throws towards him it is like some rocket that bounces off his hands and 10 yards in to the air.

if sanders is out I'm sure moye would be active next week. my thinking is mismatch against Cleveland db's. every thing I have seen out of moye when used is positive and I just can't see them giving up on him quite yet.

I'm with you as far as thinking Moye could be good goes. I've been irritated all year that they keep deactivating him. He would have been ESPECIALLY handy in the second rats game on the 2pt conversion I think.

Nope. Everything I've read says the Steelers are quite high on Moye. He just needs some polishing.

I know you're a big Moye guy and I really like his potential as well. The jets have a guy David Nelson who is doing good things for them. I see Moye as a guy like that but maybe with better athleticism and speed. He just needs to bulk up a little. I don't see why he shouldn't get a better look to see if he can be that big WR ,we all crave. It's a blessing and a curse that we are fighting for a playoff spot.

This thing with Moye sitting has been bugging me all season long. For what he did in Pre-season and the one or two games he played, he deserves some playing time. Especially when we have a recieving team that couldn't make a high school basketball team because of their height.

That's pretty cool. I hope he works out because it could be a really big asset to have a guy that big in the red zone.

I expect Moye to get a hat as well. But that doesn't mean he will be on the field for too many plays. My guess would be he fills Wheaton's role. While Wheaton and Cotchery see more time as the 2nd wr.

But here is a thought, if this team does lose Sanders (because of $ not anything else), then this is the group they will start with next year (AB, Wheaton, Cotchery, Moye) unless they pick somebody else up. Given all the holes on Defense and the need to improve the Oline, they may not pick any other WR up, putting J Brown into Moye's role - on the 53, there if needed.

I felt during the game our offense went in the tank after Sanders got hurt. I hope they Moye and Wheaton get plenty of reps this week.

Per Tomlin: Wheaton has a fractured finger that will be splinted. Sanders has a lateral meniscus sprain and will be questionable.

I would love to see J Brown active and get some playing time. I think he earned the spot after pre-season and will be an asset once he is given an opportunity to display his ability.

Actually on Cooler Talk a couple of weeks ago Tom said he thinks they will draft a WR in the first round.
