Select one loss below and tell us why you believe it was the loss most crucial to the season which brought the Steelers to being in this position.

I know they all hurt playoff chances but try and list just one.

Mine is the trip to London taking us to 0-4.

    Wk1 Titans 16 Steelers 9
    Wk2 Steelers 10 Bengals 20
    Wk3 Bears 40 Steelers 23
    Wk4 Steelers 27 Vikings 34
    Wk8 Steelers 18 Raiders 21
    Wk9 Steelers 31 Patriots 55
    Wk13 Steelers 20 Ravens 22
    Wk14 Dolphins 34 Steelers 28

Yeah I'm going Dolphins as well that way we can say we missed the playoffs by a shoe size.

I would go with Dolphins, too, but from a different perspective, the first game of the season may have set the tone. If they had won that game, it might have given the Steelers some much needed momentum for a better start this year, and who knows, maybe that would have helped them avoid a couple of losses in the next few games.

What about starting off 0-4...Titans and Vikings loss were both pretty bad.

That first play of the game killed it.

Titans. Set the tone for the year in losing our two signal callers for offense and defense. We lost more than a game that day.

Tennessee, Oakland and Miami were all awful losses. No excuse. Win just one of those and we're in the driver seat for the last wildcard.... win all 3 like we were expected to and we're fighting for the division. Rather sickening when you think about it.

YOU CANNOT LOSE TO THE RAIDERS
AND THE VIKES with 2 journeyman
QB's at their helm. Obviously 2 inferior
teams that ruined our playoff chances.

Take your pick they are all costly, most were even winnable too, minus the Patriots and Bears game.

WTF happened to our defense? Look at all those points against...Rhetorical question, but that is something I'm not used to seeing!

I'd say the Miami loss, because if we had won that would put us in the driver's seat right now, I believe. The Oakland loss was just terrible; seems like we have at least one of those losses each year. But in the "what have you done for me lately" mindset, it's Miami.

They were all bad. But to allow the pretty boys from South Beach to come into Heinz Field on a cold and snowy Steelers kind of day and kick our butts was shameful! Hope we sneak in, but we don't deserve to!

Against the Ratbirds. The team had just won three straight and had the chance to control its own destiny, and blew it. Division games are the worst ones to lose.

It would've really helped to have swept the rats but for me personally the fins loss is just absolutely inexcusable. If AB hadn't stepped out of bounds like a moron we would be in MUCH better shape right now! That play still infuriates me to no end. To have such little awareness of where you are on the field as a professional player is just inexcusable to me.

I don't disagree, but the fact it even came down to a last second miracle play was the inexcusable part.

I said the Minnesota game over in London because the team was 0-3 at that point in the season and needed a win in the worst way. It was completely bone headed for Tomlin to fly his team to Europe over night Friday/Saturday for a Sunday 1 pm kick off. Just pure stupidity. I don't care if Belicheat did it previously and his team won. It's apples and oranges to me.

If anyone hasn't watch the documentary on that it is truely disturbing. JMHO

They have Suisham on and he's talking to a Viking player who has been there for 3 days who looks completely refreshed and ready for a game and asks the kicking Canuck when he got there. The Viking player just said Really? Then Suisham said yep. By Plane, By Train and then by Bus. The next scene was Ike Taylor sleeping on the locker room floor as were many other players.

Maybe the Rooneys are too frugile with their hotel accomadations but Tomlin should have insisted that his team get there a couple days before and not play lethargic from too much travel.

I think the Miami loss was the most painful to the Steelers and to myself. The Steelers still had one more chance to control their own fate had they won that game. As for me, that loss cost me $3,000. I had the Steelers and was giving 3 points to the Dolphins. So when the score was 28 to 24 in favor of the Steelers I was sitting good. But we decided to give Miami 10 points toward the end of the 4th quarter so things didn't work out quite as good as the could have. The only redeeming thing was it was the houses' money that I had won on the three games before that one. Still hurts, but not quite as bad as if it was not the houses' money. What hurts a lot more is the fact we lost and might not be able to recover from that loss and get to the playoffs. But stranger things have happened then us getting into the playoffs because of a combination of teams winning and losing over the last two or three weeks of the season.

Bears game was a very winnable game... Minus the turnovers, we would have won by double digits

Not sure we'd control our destiny if we got one of those wins. Might need 2 of them back.

Game 1 vs Tenn; we lost our Offensive capt and signal caller in the 1st quarter, we lost our defensive signal caller Larry Foote by halftime. We lost that game and our season went downhill fast.

Yeah it was the defense's fault really.
