What we are forgetting here with all the scenarios is if Worilds would want to resign. He will get a hugh contract from a team that has plenty of money and will be out of reach for us. Unless we franchise him, I don't see him sticking around. Just bite the apple and welcome Woodley for another year at least.

Woodley and JJ outside linebackers with Carter in reserve and a draft pick for next season.

I don't think Worilds value will be that high, based on what? One good season? True we won't win any bidding wars but I'm not sure anyone will over pay either.

We've all seen players have one good season and get paid. Matt Flynn got paid. Wallace got paid. The linebacker from the Ravens. Krueger I think that's his name. With everyone running the 3-4 system or a version of, Outside Linebackers will be in demand.

Paid but not overpaid like Wallace. At least I don't recall that.

There's a decent list of OLB free agents ahead of Worilds who will likely get more attention than him. Not to mention Shaun Phiilips of the Broncos who can play OLB too.

But I believe Worilds is the youngest of the group at 25. And has the most upside.

True but he's had 6 good games in four years. The other guys are established vets. There will be interest in Worilds but maybe not as much as everyone thinks. Or at least for as much $$!

Woodley lasted like one play and injured his other leg. Dude is done. Time to cut him unless he would actually take a pay cut

bobby, I'm thinking we could offer worilds 4-5 mil. which is a nice increase for him. I wouldn't go beyond that.

Exactly, I'm very impressed with Worilds play, but on the FA market, he's not going to be the most sort after LB. He's not going to get star money.

At this point either cut Woodley or trade him for a 7th round pick. The guy just can't stay healthy. At this point I would rather have Worilds. He is starting to look a bit like James Harrison out there. I think letting him go would be mistake unless he signs for a huge contract.

I think so. I fear Pouncey is heading down the same path. Some guys are Ironmen that never come off the field. Those are the guys that should get the hefty contracts (assuming their play is adequate). Woodley looked like he had enough talent to overcome his injury bug, but for whatever reason he has fallen off. It's not like he's mashing up his knee, either. It's all soft tissue.

Cut Woodley, eat the dead money. Re-sign Worilds, tell Jarvis to hit the weight room, draft some back up in a mid to later round and move on. Woodley can't stay healthy, and is a sad excuse that he is the highest paid player of the defense.
