Steelers could be officially eliminated before sunday nights game

    wont happen.

    they wont be officially eliminated until the final minute of the Miami and Jets game. Geno Smith int will set up a last minute Miami field goal to kill our dreams.

    Wrong-o....(from a mathematical standpoint anyway). In fact, our road to the fantasy kingdom might be easier if the Dolphins lose to the Bills (and then, of course, the Jets) instead of the Pats....that way the Pats won't have mailed it in by the time they play the Ravens....

    And, heck....'obviously' the Dolphins can't play in cold weather....against any other team, that is....

    One more loss by the Broncos and the Patriots could be the #1 seed, I'm sure they won't be throwing the game to Baltimore

    Seeing that they went 0-4 to start the preseason and then 0-4 to start the season I think they were on the path of official elimination back on day 1 of training camp.:shrug:

    The Steelers can't be eliminated this week unless they lose.

    A Steeler loss coupled with a Miami win or a Balt win will end the playoff threads for 2013.

    I played around with ESPN's playoff machine and came up with a scenario where we win a 3 way tie at 8-8 with Miami and the Jets. When I added in a Ravens win over Detroit followed by losses to New England and Cinci, we still win the 4 way tiebreaker.

    A ton of pieces have to fall our way to get in. The fat lady is heading to the stage, and I don't think Coach T will get there in time to make her veer away from the microphone...
