Tomlin could never ever coach at a level of accountability or pressure like he would find at a place like Texas. Big program with big money supporters won't stand for what the fans have watched under Tomlin the last few years, they want results not talk and inaction. Tomlin leaving the comfort zone of the Rooney's would expose him more than ever.

i just dont see it happening.

if Tomlin goes its because he gets fired. 2 bad seasons isnt enough for the Rooneys to pull the plug on Tomlin yet, but 3 might.

i think he will be back next year, but he will be coaching for his job.

Neither Mike Tomlin nor Jim Harbaugh is going to Texas. Let's get real here.

Sorry, I was joking. I know what he said, but it also looked like a good "bad lipreading" moment.

Yes, a program expecting results would never stand for all those Superbowl appearances and winning seasons...

Exactly. Is there any more pressure then winning the Super Bowl once you get to the title game?

Why would Tomlin go to Texas?, He would have to build a team there and he is not capable of doing that. He can't draft , what makes anyone think he could recruit Blue chip high school kids:cool:

Quite a few coaches have left the NFL for college jobs but I can't recall any Super Bowl winning coaches doing so. There are a lot of rumors coming out of Texas but the $10 million per year for Saban seems to have legs.

Add me to the list of people who think MT would do well at Texas. In college it's more about recruiting than anything else, and he would bring mega-cred when he sits down with high school stars and their parents. He'd start having 5 star incoming classes from day 1.

The only way that this is possible is if the Rooney's have already told him he will be let go at the end of the season. Not a chance he goes to any college as a coach.
