Is this the guy trying to get fired? Going for it at your own 10 yd line it's 4th and 10 with 2 timeouts and 2 min and 30 sec on the clock, punt the freaking ball idiot. I defended Tomlin earlier this season now I don't care if he gets fired, after these last 2 weeks. The bonehead sideline play against the Ravens and the bad clock management against the Dolphins. It's time to blow this thing up and start over.

How about calling a TO when the play clock was running down...for the Dolphins. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, that's for sure.

i think it shows ZERO confidence in your defense to get a stop.
Belichick did it against Indy a few years ago.

He threw it for his boy Mike Wallace.
Had it been for Morely Safer he would have scored.

Can't we ask this question after almost every game he has coached?

I agree. I'd have to watch it again, but I believe there was a moment when they had the play ready, but Tomlin called them in, and Haley turned his back to him and looked frustrated. I could be wrong there, though. Like I said, I'll need to watch that again later.

I was running around my basement screaming at the TV. They didn't even try to get the play off, they simply accepted the fact that they were going to use a timeout. So incredibly stupid! This stuff happens every week

from Coach Tomlin Re: Decision to go for it on fourth-and-10:
Obviously, if we were successful then we could continue on. We hadn’t done a great job of stopping him in the second half, so we weren’t ensured of getting the ball back. If you punt there, they have an opportunity to convert third downs and kill the clock and the game. I thought if we went for it we had an opportunity to continue on. If we didn’t, then whatever was going to happen was going to happen quickly, and we had an opportunity to have the ball at the end, which is what we did.

guys admit or not we have an head coach that doesn't know how to make any decision on the sideline .. he is good speaker and had a good interwiew and was hired than he was carried by the veterans and the two positional coaches , every time he does something on his own ... is a nightmare
do you realize we pay him almost 6 milion a year ?????? basically only for a post game press ...

Then go for it and don't waste a timeout. He also stated that we couldn't stop them and whatever was going to happen would happen quickly.. With that statement they should have scored a TD from inside the 15 when we gave them the ball back. If we would have punted and had the same outcome of not letting them get a first down, they would have to punt and it is a 3 point game.

How about once again not understanding the usage of timeouts around the 2:00 warning??

If you take the timeout BEFORE the 2:00 warning, say with 2:10 like he could have, it assures that the clock stops at 2:00 after 2nd down. By saving the timeout until after, there was something like 1:54 left when we used our timeout after 2nd down. That is a valuable 6 seconds in a close game. Would have been nice to have an extra play from the 10 yard line at the end of the game, huh?

It's not the first time he's done this either. Why can't he understand that? Take the timeout BEFORE the two minute warning when you only have 1 left and are trying to get the ball back late in a close game!!
