Who has to lose today to help with the Steelers' slim chances? My brain is too annoyed to try to figure it out.

Just glancing at the schedule, it looks like:
    Jax needs to beat Cleveland
    Indy needs to beat Tenn
Cincy needs to beat SD (tough to swallow)
    Atl needs to beat Buffalo
Miami needs to beat NYJ (not sure about this one -based on Jets better conf record)
    KC and Denver insignificant
NE and Houston insignificant (but I hope the Patsies lose)

These are the only 2 the matter...we own tie breaker with the jets, bills, we would have to take care of miami and clev anyway

Who are we rooting for to help us out today

Who we need to win or lose so only puts us a game back of a wildcard

You're right, but it'd be nice to knock Cleveland and Buffalo another rung or two down the ladder to create a little more space between us, right?

But the NE win pretty much kills the chance for a 1st round bye in the playoffs.

Not unless you think Cincy will **** the bed, which is entirely possible. Remarkably the Steelers still do have a slim chance of overtaking them.

We'd be sitting pretty right now if that had happened. Amazing we're still in the conversation. I hate to be pessimistic, but I think the injuries to our offensive line, our secondary issues in that we have a propensity to give up the big play and the fact we generally like to spot the opponent a double digit lead before deciding to play will catch up to us in the end. Could be wrong. Hope I'm wrong.

updated playoff status, we need to win out Baltimore and Tennessee to lose two Of the next four or have their only loss be against the Bengals. The hardest part of this equation is us winning out

Yep, I think you're right. I think there is a good chance for all of the stars to line up EXCEPT for the Steelers to win out. An already weakened O line was decimated against Baltimore and I think you're going to see the offense regress in the coming games.

That's a shame too. Our offensive line was really coming together and playing well. The chemistry was FINALLY there and just like that, we've got Whimper at LT and Wallace at C. So much for chemistry.

yes but we have to beat miami cincy and green bay away , with wallace at center and whimper at left tackle ..that's the problem . i saw miami today and will not be a cake walk just to start

not really because they would essentially be 2 games behind with us owning the tie-breakers and if we fall that far in the last 4 games we wouldnt be getting in anyway...right now if we win the remainng afc games we knock out SD...Tenn really has to lose next week in denver or we are cooked unless we win all 4 which i dont see happening..balt has to lose 2 SD has to lose 1 and miami has to lose 1 other one..

    Here it is ...

Steelers 3-1 winning all the remaining AFC games...
    Balt 2-2
    Tenn 2-2
    Sd 3-1
miami 2-2 obviously one of them being us...

If any of these teams finish better than these records we have to be 4-0...
