and danny smith?? we should have tried suisham doing his best curly of the 3 stoogies immpersonation, laying on his side running in circles in the dirt before the on side kick. that would have fooled them. then there suisham. that's two games this year we could have won. i expect this to be his last.

 

Tomlin/FO blew it on not going after Bobby April when he was available.

Not defending Suisham, but he was better without having Smith in his ear again, and without Tomlin cutting his "holders". With our high "punter turnover" rate we'd might be might want to at least consider have some else holding for field goals.

 

I think we should have punted vice trying a 50 yard FG on a cold night anyway. If we punt there the Rats likely only end up with 19.

 

I agree ,close game punt the football. We try too many long kicks in close games. It has sure hurt us in the past as well.

They've cost us two games this year. The Oakland game when Suisham missed two chip shots and last night's game on the botched field goal, the long return by Jones and the pitiful onside kick attempt at the end. What was that?!

 

Danny Smith is my absolute hero and I will not criticize him in any way. Every time I see him I get all warm and fuzzy inside. The man is a flat out football genius. I mean he even coached up Tomlin on how to stop the returner.

3rd and long, my thought was we were too far away for the field goal, so either run the ball on 3rd to hope to either get close enough to go for it on 4th down or at least get a few more yards.

I said on the game thread that I thought the long snapper didn't snap the ball. When they showed the replay, you could see the holder yelling, as if inflicting his voice to repeat the signal. Either way, I would expect Suisham to take the blame, like Ben does, rather than call out his teammates. So unless someone has read or heard different, that's my thought process.

 

he stands behind the whole play. he can see it isn't snapped. why would he run at an empty holder? yes if ben did it he would get the blame too. as it should be.

 

we were lucky the Ravens weren't even trying. If they did we would have lost 48-0. Thank heaven for the refs always cheating for us

I don't know if some of you guys are serious or just having some fun. Ok yes the punts have been terrible as far as distance go but I think the coverage has improved leaps and bounds over what it was the last two years. Kick off coverage has been solid until the Jones return last night. I admit I haven't watched every game probably 95% of them but I can't think of any return punt or kick off where the coverage was terrible, in fact I thought the Land Shark was making some stellar plays on ST's and up and until what last week(?) Suisham was most ppl's consensus MVP so is ST's doing that badly?
