With the ridiculously disheveled O-line with yet another main starter out for Sunday, and with a couple of beasts coming up the middle through a center we picked up off the street and a less than healthy decastro, how does Ben not get sacked 7-10 times Sunday?? Will be screen/bubble passes to RB's/WR's all day folks. Could get ugly.

he will. Ben has been sacked a ton this year, but fortunately he has avoided the big hit.

they seemed to run the ball with more of a commitment last week. the best way to offset the pass rush is to run the ball. feed Bell and Dwyer the ball and that will open up the pass game.

the best way to beat the Lions is to keep their offense on the sideline.

Yes he does but he is going to need the ice tub when the game is over.

I'm glad you brought this up freak, how do we manage to strike gold after our pro bowl center goes down? Yet we can't seem to get close in the draft...amazing stuff.

The lions are worse then us when it comes to getting to the qb they only have 15 on the season. They are a beast against the run though.

They've only given up 10 sacks and we are a pretty bad run blocking team

    i'm hoping
    Heyward
    Dwyer
    Foster
    Gilbert
    Adams
    Whimper
    make it through aswell
    that covers all the 7's

Every once in awhile a blind squirrel finds a nut....jk jk. That post was meant to take a jab at our draft choice. Just pointing out that we grabbed a guy and plugged him in and he isn't the center of the issues on the Oline. Kind of refreshing for once.

With Foster likely out of the game, Whimper, Velesco and DeCastro are vital against Fraley and Suh. Time to man up.

Unfortunately our line would have problems run blocking against some college teams. The Lions dline is stout against the run, something like top 5 or 6 in the league. Dollars to donuts we'll see a small mountain of screen passes in this one.

thats my fear. the Steelers have to be one of the worst teams in the league at running screens.

my hope is that the Lions are so intent on "killing Ben" that they can bust some big runs on them. if they can do that that might slow their rush down. the Lions are a decent team, but this is not a multi winning super bowl team coming to town. they can be beat.

Remember this an odd Sunday, and on odd Sundays we don't run the wildcat package for some strange reason.

Wonder how a 2-back offense (Bell & Dwyer) with misdirection would work?
