I know this year our D is getting older and losing a little but with the now basically flag-tag rules in place with today's NFL we should spend as much as possible on the offense. This off-season I'd like to see the personnel dept. make some hard decisions with some of our vets and cut as much dead weight as we can moving forward. A quick fix in my mind would be trading whatever we could for Larry Fitzgerald. With Pouncey coming back hopefully healthy next season he along with Brown, Cotchery, and Miller would be deadly. We could plug in a few young guys on the D and all they'd really need would be a couple of stops a game. I think Ben would be league MVP with that arsenal at his disposal. I don't know what it would take but that in my opinion would give Ben at least a couple more bullets to fire at another ring. Thoughts?

A LOT of holes on defense. But our number one priority has to be a LT.

If there are 2 players I want in the upcoming draft, they are Matthews and Mike Evans. Evans is going to be a stud, I truly believe that. Matthews the same way. Make a trade to somehow get in the position to get both and it fixes SOOOO many of our issues.

defense still wins no matter what that turd Goodell does, there's no point in loading. up on offense when your crappy D is giving up 50, they need a number 1 CB, drop ike to the #2 or 3 , Clark is done they need to draft his replacement, troy is knocking on retirements door they need to draft his replacement , on O they could buy time if the D can do their job, this team used to win when all they had to do was score 17 , now they need to score 40

What about the games when they only give up 20 and the crappy O can't muster more then that? You're kidding yourself if you think defenses in todays league will do better then between 14 and 20 points which is where this defense often holds teams to. You have to be able to score.

this team is bad and its been a team effort on both sides of the ball, but the offense is pretty pathetic. they move the ball ok between the 20's, but they just dont have a real redzone threat. or atleast they dont use the guys they have that could be a threat very well. that blame falls on Haley.

maybe they found something with Ben and Cotch last sunday, but Miller and Moye need to be more involved once they hit the redzone. AB, Sanders and Wheaton are all fast, but once you get down to a short field speed doesnt matter. its all about good play calling and exacution and this team lacks that.

Keep Ike as a 2 or a 3? For 11 mill? Sorry, he should be gone with Clark. Hopefully the door that hits them closes slow, as they are.
Troy can stay out his contract with a pay cut for another year. This is a young man's game, especially in the secondary.
Oh and it would be nice to trade Hollywood Woodley. Take a look at Justin Houstin and Tamba Hali. Bringing the heat for the Chiefs. While Woodley is non existent.

They need to fix both lines. Take the best available linemen in the draft, cut deadwood where possible, upgrade with some free agents, and fire some coaches.

It all starts up front and we're not good on either side of the ball.

Fitzgerald makes too much money so you can forget about getting him. LT is the top priority this offseason.

I acknowledge that some players need to go but I'm still not convinced that getting away from the 3-4 defense wouldn't solve some of our problems. That is assuming we let the right players leave and draft the ones we need to make a switch. Just a thought!

Drafting is such a gamble to begin with, always take the best player with those top pics. Eg.Ben

Folks just my opinion, we have way
more holes than just two players. We need
multiple players that can actually make an
impact for us.We need to draft IMPACT PLAYERS.

invest in a left tackle should be priority number one. And since we wasted two picks on tackles over the past couple of years. We might want to try free agency.

either a top tier prospect or a medium to low FA, because we can't afford a top tier FA, LT.

i'd love a top tackle but I still think we can upgrade in round one or two still. since we will be drafting early in each round. I do think adams has a higher ceiling as a RT then gilbert does. I think he could still spot play some LT if he had too, where i'm not so sure about gilbert or we would have seen it by now. a lot depends on what we want to do with this high draft pick. we just don't draft this high often.

We could have fixed the LT spot when pro bowl Jermon Bushrod was a FAgent in the offseason, I said on this board this was a FA we couldn't pass up, the Bears snatched the 4 year top tackle up for 35 mill, I consider that to be the best deal in free agency and we could have signed him in my opinion, regardless of cap woes...

I'm wondering if we shouldn't try and get a LT through FA. Seems drafting is a question mark.

Maybe not LT, that could get pricey unless a steal is out there....but I think Steelers need to go out and make a few FA signings to fill some holes....

I don't see a lot in Adams. I know he played well as a run blocker last year on the right side but his pass blocking leaves a lot to be desired. I can't believe his technique is so bad. Especially coming out of a program like Ohio State.

yeah maybe we can get another first round OL.. or a second round OL .. maybe 1st and 2nd... and then they can both get hurt in the PS games.. its obvious we cant draft OL .. why not just trade a high DP for established OL?

Seeing this team is into keeping guys until their teeth fall out, we're stuck with Ike, so I'm saying he's no longer a #1 CB, he's a #2 at best I would even drop him down to the #3 guy, just because the guy is over paid that doesn't make him the #1. I want him gone too but this team doesn't work that way, especially when they bring back garbage as in Gay.

As for Woodley, I would add Lebeau to that problem since his exotic blitz packages have retired before he did. It's easy to stop our rush when they keep doing the same crap over and over again, the other teams have caught on to Lebeau's boring D. KC's D is a much more aggressive style, that's why they're putting up the pretty #'s.

With Lebeau over staying his welcome I'm kind of glad they kept the old fart CB's and DB's around for as long as they have, I don't want Lebeau poisoning our new draft picks minds with his boring style. He's already ruining JJ, and Cortez Allen, they're slowing down into Lebeaus boring D
