All of a sudden, I'm WORRIED about Mike Wallace!

After our defense's lack of speed has been exposed the last couple of weeks, all of a sudden I'm worried about Mike Wallace exploiting that on his return trip to the Burgh in a couple of weeks. When I saw Pryor pull away from everyone like they were running in the mud and to see Aaron Dobson turn on the after-burners and leave Ryan Clark, and everyone else, in his wake, the sad realization hit me that we really are SLOW on defense. You think Wallace is licking his chops?

 

I have 2 words about this jack. Van dyke and the land shark.

 

You know, mac, I thought about that when we signed Vandyke. He's super fast and I thought Tomlin may be wanting to get faster on defense given that Mikey's coming to town in a couple of weeks.

 

He still needs someone to throw the ball to him.

 

I honestly think van dyke has a chance at being a really good db. I think what his job will be against Miami is to stay over the top of Wallace at all times. We play 3 safeties anyways so he will probably replace shark out there that week.

 

with these two on the field, we have increased our team speed back there by leaps and bounds. van dyke,allen,thomas,and here's one, taylor as the FS. troy at the ilb spot that he's been playing as a lot this year. gay as the nickel. a bunch of speed added and ike facing up to the defense coving the deep half with Thomas. sorry clarkie, but it's time to coach from the sidelines. instant speed added. you and I know DLB would have none of it though.

Let Cortez jam him on the line like he did Gronk on some plays and maybe that will take him out. I don't think Cortez can run with him but I do think he can probably get physical enough to slow him down.

 

That makes too much sense, BFT. In all likelihood, our CBs will be playing 8 yards off the LOS in the burn zone. Mikey will run a couple of outs to set us up and then an out and up for a 75 yard TD.

Not just Wallace..need to include the receiving core from the remaining 8 opponents. This defense must stop showering in King's Syrup.

I think we all know Wallace's shortcomings. I say make him beat us.
