Sad but true anaylisis of our D so far this year.
    Painful to watch.
    Period.
No, I don`t think LeBeau is to blame, but, I could see him getting tired of watching these perfomances from his players, and deciding that maybe the time has finally come, for him to "get on with his life`s work"...
Except, that football has been his "life`s work", and he`s been damn good at it, as a player, AND coach...
This has to hurt him twenty times worse, than it hurts us...
    GO STEELERS....

I think LeBeau hung on about 2 years too long.

I would agree with that Jack. Love the guy and he is a legend but you can only produce on name only for so long. I will never take anything away from him but it is time to retire and enjoy life after football. I'm not sure Butler is the answer though but i lean towards giving him a chance since he has been waiting for his turn.

I foresee the same defense though. we can't run the same defense with slow old players. I've never been sold on butler as the next man up. it's a younger version of the same coach and the coach don't play. this time it is the jimmy's and joe's not the X's and O's.

I am still leaning towards our LB'ers are not that great. our secondary is old. I am however pretty happy with our DE situation. I think arnfelt, Williams and heyward will be a better rotation next year with some upside and added speed. we have been our best when we have had a fast defense.

it's similar to our offense and ben. we all know it's going to happen but we keep holding onto hoping they have one last year of greatness. we are setting ourselves up for disappointment I fear.

I think we need to go into full rebuild mode. It was a great ride with this core but it is time to find a new core. We need to get out from under salary cap issues and we need a huge infusion of younger talent. Unfortunately this will mean a year maybe 3 of some struggles...
