Not happening. But don't worry, I think you'll see Grad soon enough the way Ben continues to get pummeled.

If we weren't going to see him in the final seconds of the Pats game, we're not going to see him at all, unless Ben is out.

Probably so. Ben is surprisingly durable this year considering the abuse he's taken.
    Agree.

Yeah if we were actually competitive this year Ben would be hurt by now. But since we're horrible he's just gonna stand in there and take unnecessary punishment. Go figure.

Maybe someone can hide Ben's helmet and get the backup in there for a series.

people around here actually think Ben is the reason this team is not winning. some of you guys just kill me. its like you arent even watching the games.

how about someone give DL the wrong directions to the game next week so they can play a different type of defense that might actually work in todays NFL.

I can see both sides of this. Save Ben from the beatings, or let this HOF to be QB continue to post numbers like yesterday so he is a first ballot pick.

You think Ben is the issue? Grad wouldn't complete 10% of his passes! Be careful what you wish .......

lets see Grad had one huge game against us, and that is about it. One game is not his whole career. He has been mediocre at best his entire career. In the preseason he looked decent against 2nd and 3rd teamers. Also, with all the QB injuries,he wasn't exactly sought out for his assistance by others. Add in the quality Oline we have and that's why I said what I said. Ben is not the issue, and although he hasn't played well at times he is doing all he can with what he has.

I didn't say that Ben was the issue, what I am saying that you (nor anyone else) can't accurately predict that Gradkowski will only complete 10% of his passes. You don't even know at this point who the opposing team might be. :smiley1:

I don't care if Grad comes in and completes 100% of his passes - it won't matter when your D gives up 55 (and 31 after the O, with Ben at the helm, BTW, came back and tied it)

I am going to say this and then quickly dive for cover in my bunker. If Grad or Jones are put in I think you will see two things. One you will see the offense run a little bit better and two you will see the kind of mistakes that are attributed to growing pains for a player. The reason I say that the offense will run little better is because if the play calls for a three step drop and a quick slant to the slot receiver, you will see a three step drop and a throw to the receiver. If it is a screen pass to the half-back, it will be a screen pass to the half back. This offense is built around structure so that it gives young player a foundation to build on. The sad part is that structure isn't Ben's strong suit. He thrives on chaos and creativity. If he hears three step drop and slant, he looks thinks it is covered throws a pump fake, gets sacked because the line knows the call, knows it is a quick release play and they can allow the DE to rush wide because by the time he gets there the ball should be out, it isn't.

Now all that being said I would rather have Ben in there because he gives you the intangibles. Yes he makes mistakes different than the growing pains you would see from young inexperienced guys but you can't doubt his competitive spirit. Game on the line I want Ben in there. Nothing to lose I say let the younger guys get some reps

I don't think you need to dive for cover after that. It was one of the more astute posts I've read on here all week.

I'll disagree with this for one reason, it looks as if teams know what Haley wants to do, the WRs are always in tight coverage, this is why we can't get things going, teams aren't worried about deep passes as the oline can't hold up long enough for that kind of play to develop. Instead the jam the receivers off the line and play tight coverage, how many times has Ben dropped back and trued to get the pass to a slab receiver, or the screen passes that have no blockers? Teams know that Haley and this terrible oline need to get off quick short passes so they keep tight coverage so to say you would see that, yeah you would but they would be incomplete, turnovers or defended, teams are ready for it.
