Did anyone really expect that the Steelers would be able to win this game after what we have seen, or rather...the lack of what we have seen, so far this season?

Today we got Gonked. Brady is a demigod when it comes to QB's. We don't have the talent to be able to stop offenses like his.

Everyone is calling for the coaches and Colbert to be fired, and I admit that I was one of those people early in this season, but after watching these players who we use as starters play on the field, I just want to see competent football players! Many of the guys that we have starting, wouldn't even be on the 53 man roster of other teams. Its a lack of talent guys.

We got rid of a bunch of players that carried our team to greatness, and the guys that we had to replace them simply could not fill their shoes. Nor are they talented enough. (My favorite example to show this...Hines Ward was slow and not tall....yet teams constantly respected him by double and tripple covering him throughout his career, and he still got open and made the catch when we needed. Even last season, the four plays we sent Burress in, teams doubled him...the Browns even put Hayden (sp?) on him) Teams simply don't fear or respect our current starters, because they see on the tape that they aren't good.

Say what you want about Bell being the future, and Brown and Sanders being all that and a bag of chips, and Jarvis Jones being a god, and Shamarko being a god, and William Gay playing well this year, and all that, but the collective talent of this team is really bad. Bottom five in the league. Yet we have one of the highest cap payouts.

Name great players on this team? If you asked me this three years ago (not THAT long ago), I would say Ben/Troy/Heath/Mendenhal (he actually had 100 yard games and scored touchdowns at one point...don't simply discredit him because of his Bin-laden comments)/Harrison/Aaron Smith/Hampton/Farrior/Woodley/Troy.

    Today? Ben

The players listed three years ago that are still on the team are not producing. You could argue that Ben isn't great anymore too, but that verifies my point even more. We had great players three years ago, now it is hard to name any player that is great.

The Bengals made Brady look like Kent Graham.

Yea but didn't the coaches and Corbett pick the players that are so bad?

We don't have enough draft picks to replace those that will/should be gone: Ike, Troy, Clark, Keisel, Woodley (salary too high), Worilds, Sanders...man, it's gonna be ugly for a while...

    Too many holes to fill.
Need to follow the Patriot way for stocking draft picks.

The sad sorry truth is that when the announce team starts saying how you shut the Pats down and see's you going away from that it is probably a good bet something is screwy with the coaching. Ben made some great plays but he also made horrible ones. Haley and Lebeau both called good games and at the same time terrible ones. One thing I will say I know there is a ref slant in favor of the Pats but some of those calls were just out there. Somebody quick tell how can you decline a penalty, then once you see the replay and the call is overturned you can go back and say wait wait wait we changed or minds we accept the penalty? Two players run into each other while both are looking the other way and the flag is thrown on the defense? I know Brady and Gronk are the NFL's poster boys but come on that grab on the jersey was about the lightest offense I saw during the game and it gets called?

If I were to go out and buy a new Nike jersey of a Steelers player, I already have a throwback of Ben so I want someone else, who should I get? I seriously cannot answer that! There are no great Steelers left on this team.

Heath is still an all time great. I would be proud to wear his jersey any day of the week and twice on Sundays. I think Troy is still great but he's not being able to be what he really is because our d line is so soft that he has to go up and help and he can't really wreak havoc in the backfield because he has to babysit Clark and Gay. Did you see a rookie punk Ike so bad today it wasn't even funny? I did. The Pats went 93yds on 2 plays right?

While I am not for knee jerk reactions I think I am moving toward it is more than just the players and lack of talent. It is also about developing a game plan that is geared toward the strengths of your current team. My frustration is that this staff does not seem willing or able to put together a good game plan and then make adjustments when it is needed. I think unfortunately this season is telling us a lot about our coaching staff and our front office.
